Don't think that was Allen's fault. Allen scrambled right and threw a nice pass to Reynolds on 3rd and goal just before the end of the 3rd Q. Reynolds just flat dropped it. We ended up kicking a FG instead. Reynolds (or any other receiver) has to catch those passes on the road against teams like Auburn.

We had five second half drives. The first three all traveled inside the Auburn 30, the last two were super conservative clock burning drives.

While this is absolutely true, he also made a pretty sweet 3rd down catch to extend a drive. I have nothing bad to say about our receivers from the Auburn game.

In fairness to Josh, that would have been a pretty difficult catch. He can and probably should make it, but it was still tough.

Not talking about just allen, I'm talking about the team as a whole. Just not sunshine pumping yet.

The offense did bog down in the second half. Seemed to get worse in the 4th Q. I can't deny that.

Would have been nice to see the Ags with 10 or 14 points in the second half.

Kyle has yet to play a game without an INT. That includes Auburn (terrible pass D), SMU, Lamar, ULM.

He's still a bit unpolished, that much is true. Smart money says he's going to struggle again at once before the season is over. But this is the perfect season for him to do it. Without the expectations of an SEC/national title, a young team can get good experience and prepare for next season. He's unquestionably extremely talented, and he has a very good arm for a freshman (certainly better than Manziel.) Learning the passing game in college just takes a bit more time than learning to scramble.

1. Very obvious that Sumlin has not "LOST" the locker room.

THIS is the most significant positive we learned from the Auburn game.

2. The Bama game did not undo everything that has been accomplished since we joined the SEC.

I never was THAT pessimistic, but I feel what you were saying. If we were going to have to fire Sumlin then it was probably going to mean a 3 to 4 year setback.

We have a football team, again. We still have a helluva head football coach. We're still a force to be reckoned with in the SEC West (we matter), and it looks like we ought to keep improving for the foreseeable.

Another lesson learned for me, the football fan. "I've never seen 'em quit" still applies to Fightin' Texas Aggie Football.
