re: One of the Worst Uniforms of all Time ...

I'm an old man.I didn't like the uniforms; but, if this "coolness" gets us an extra 5 star recruit(or 2) because he's/they're impressed with the bling factor, so be it.

I didn't like them when they announced them, but they grew in me. I thought they looked really good during the game. The helmet was the only chrome helmet I've ever liked, and I had many friends text me to tell me they liked our jerseys.

The chrome on white was something I've never seen before and if I'm trying to be objective, I think it was one of the coolest alternate jerseys I've seen any program do in the past few years, definitely the coolest thing Adidas has done except maybe our black '12s. I wish we were nike, and think the money argument is silly, but that's a different argument.

The Rant fricking hates Hispanic people for some reason

I dropped a Spanish phrase over there a few months ago (Entiendes? ... I think), and I got gang-tackled with nonsense about the "language of illegals" etcetera.

IRL, I probably use a Spanish word or phrase in one of every ten sentences that I speak. Just the culture here.

Same, and I love that part of Texan culture. No lie, I'm known as the black guy in my office that'll drop an "Entiendes" on the heels of a "howdy" fast enough to make your head spin during the playoffs, a friend of mine from the Midwest was asking why I had Spanish on my jersey ("Los Spurs"), and I was like.... "cuz it's awesome" My favorite shirt from the most recent title? The one that says "CINCO" across the chest lol. Hell, if Mrs. T hadn't said yes when I asked her out, I almost certainly would have married a Mexican chick at A&M.

Didn't you know that bigotry against Hispanics isn't related to "race?" It is related to "immigration status."

That is why my law school roomie gets periodically called a "spic," despite his family having been in Texas far longer (probably a century longer or more) than most Anglo families.

Funny story. Same roomie. There were actually five of us in the house. He and I would speak Spanish between ourselves when we didn't want the others to know what we were saying. It was hilarious.

That helmet was pretty damn sweet. I would actually like to see it worn again with the all regular whites. The jersey with the state silhouette though looked awful. Same thing for the pants.

I'm all for alternative uniforms. They create noise among recruits, which is all that matters. Screw what 40 year old Joe The Ag thinks about this, the uniforms aren't for him.
