Agreed. Kennedy was able to pull a few rabbits out of his hat adding talent. The year he got House, Jones to transfer in and stacked it with a great freshman class of Hogg, Davis, Gilder, and Thomas (did work at Clemson) which led to a Sweet 16. Then that class matured along with surprise development Williams led to another 2 years later.

Let me once and for all bury any narrative pat will try to use in claiming that Kennedy > Buzz
2018-2019: When leading at the half, A&M was 9-5. Included in that loss total were blowing leads of 10 points vs. UC Irvine and 16 points vs. Florida. When trailing at the half, A&M was 5-13. (Alabama x2, Kansas State, at Missouri and Vanderbilt were the only victories)
So far this season, A&M is 1-0 when leading at the half and 2-1 when trailing at the half. I expect to win one of the games in Orlando and at least three of the final four games in 2019. That would put us, at worst, at 7-3 and, at best, 9-2 going into conference play. I don't think there's any way we beat Maryland.
The encouraging sign is that, by constantly winning when trailing at the half, it sends the message that they're never out of the game. We had Gonzaga on the ropes before they got pissed off and decided to take us seriously.

Disappointing. Having to rely on French because Starks was selfish and Gordon is hurt sucks.

This isn't even year 0, it's year -1. I wouldn't be surprised if we go 0-fer in SEC play, the roster is a high school varsity team at this point.
