Go outside Texas to recruit them. Texas has a total of 4 HS recruits in the ESPN top 30 for ILB and OLB.

4 players out of 60.

DT QB's and WR's, Texas has 18 out of 60.

Until we recruit the kind of LB's they have in places like GA, AL, and FL (states, not U's), we will be soft. The top 30 recruits in these positions are littered with kids from the SE US.

Don't fix this, and we will never be competitive in the SEC.

Ever.

Need to get Coach Yaw Yaw once he gets fired at LSU. He knows those swamps and hollers like the back of his pet gator.

Solving our problem of linebacker talent and depth won't fix our defense but it would help.

A cleansing fire is required at this point, League of Shadows style.

It's not the only answer, but it is absolutely a necessary one.

Guess everyone has been to recruiting board. IF you haven't... Bama has 2 of the top 3 OLBs committed and the 3rd is looking like Bama also. That would be the top 3 OLBs in high school... all 5 stars.

Last year they pulled in 2 5 star LBs.

Gives you some idea of how far behind we are.. and are going to remain... unless something drastic happens at Texas A&M. We can't continue to recruit at our levels on defense in the SEC. We are falling desperately behind Bama as well as other teams and it really isn't that close.

The whole sport is falling behind Bama. I am more worried about Auburn, LSU and Texas.

It's true, but our LB recruiting and depth is a huge issue. As far as quality of players we are still easily in the bottom half of the SEC at that position. It's both recruiting and player development.

We need to get an ace recruiter for an area outside of TX to focus on front 7 recruiting. LA, FL, GA, whatever, pick your area, hire a guy with a track record of recruiting well there, and hit it hard for these spots

Still no solution in sight...

Maybe I overstate this, though. I do see that we have 3 4-star LB's committed. Two are from Texas, though, so I am skeptical.

It's more like "instincts, instincts, instincts".
