This.

Sadly, it's the only way to progress in that line of work.

LINK
quote:

Republican leaders who have watched Donald Trump’s summer surge with alarm now believe that his presidential candidacy has been contained and may begin to collapse because of his repeated attacks on a Fox News Channel star and his refusal to pledge his loyalty to the eventual GOP nominee.
Think this is about the 3rd or 4th time the establishment has declared Trump dead

Also, I found this funny LINK
quote:

Former president Bill Clinton had a private telephone conversation in late spring with Donald Trump at the same time that the billionaire investor and reality-television star was nearing a decision to run for the White House, according to associates of both men.

Four Trump allies and one Clinton associate familiar with the exchange said that Clinton encouraged Trump’s efforts to play a larger role in the Republican Party and offered his own views of the political landscape.
Bill you son of a bitch

It's impressive when you look at it. You essentually play chess with people by using your wit, very easy to see how you can get power hungry. Yea it's sleazy as shite, but it is definitely an impressive skill nonetheless.

I don't respect what they are and do, but I respect the mental skill involved.

I don't understand all the Carson love. His only claim to fame is telling off the President at the national prayer breakfast.

-He is not good on guns ("You have no right to semi automatic guns...")
-He wants to raise the minimum wage
-He knows literally nothing about foreign affairs (Arguably the most important job of the President)
-He has no background in economic theory or policy

He is a good guy, and a very talented man, but not remotely conservative. I just don't get it.

Any number of folks I've worked with. Mike Coffman, Congressman from Colorado's 6th. One of the most honest, hardworking people I've ever known, period.

There is a lot more going on here than makes the news. Things get added to bills, horses are traded, etc.

Say I run on a platform of job creation and tax reduction. A bill gets introduced that would cut income tax rates 1% across the board, but he a section that would raise the minimum wage to $20/hour. I'm going to vote against that bill, even though I promised to lower taxes. Does that make me a liar?

I'm excited for the possible shite show. If both Bernie or Trump don't get the nod from their perspective parties. Then if they both run independent the possibility of history in the making. Not to mention the big frick YOU to both parties.

And I think there are a small percentage of people who understand this. And maybe voting against this makes you an honest guy who is just trying to work hard for the people.

That doesn't mean that you always have just that choice. Or that the fact that you already failed your constituents by getting backed into that corner from the get go. We don't need a 'Mr. Smith goes to washington' because he is the type of guy who gets backed into these corners. The battle is already won or lost before the bill even comes to a vote, and honest john is going to lose that battle. HAS been losing that battle for 200 years.

Washington is a den of snakes, and you either need your own snake, or a snake herder. Sending an honest, hard working puppy who is 'willing to compromise to get things done' into a snake den and then wondering why he failed is stupid. Yet that's exactly what we do.

Is there a conservative snake or a snake herder in the current field? I don't know, and I really doubt it. I'm all in on Trump over on the Poli-board, but I'm 90% sure he's just the flavor of the month. In a month that board is going to be full of centrist blowhards, crowing about how they knew Trump was going to fall, and now everyone must bow to their chosen liberal snake or conservative puppy. The end result will be a GOP establishment candidate vs a DNC establishment candidate. One of them will win or lose because they made 1 stupid offhand comment, because that little flub will be the only thing that truly separates them in the public's eyes. The other one will go into office and resign every single executive order from the previous president, just as the one before him did. We will continue our fall.

Trump is way too fiscally liberal to earn my vote. Dude makes Jeb look super conservative.
