Heard the Texas Monthly interview. The more I hear from Jimbo and learn about him, the more I believe my impressions of him before were off base

I just finished the weekly radio show, I feel the same way. Wasn’t a huge fan of the hire originally but dang if he can coach half as well as he communicates we are really going to enjoy his time here . He is just darn likable, no wonder he’s kicking Herman’s arse

Now time for the Texas Monthly interview

Same here. Listened to his weekly radio show today. Dude is waaaay different than I previously thought. He’s philosophical and thoughtful in ways I haven’t heard many coaches speak. He runs thought circles around Sumlin.

He is open and honest and doesn’t seem to have anything to hide. He’s tough and doesn’t shy away or deflect the tough questions like Sumlin did.

Hes not afraid of any coach and I’m convinced he”ll win a championship in Aggieland.

Jimbo is a good interview subject partly because he has something to say. I can definitely see why guys would want to play for him and how he has had success in what he does.

I admire his candor in these interviews. It's rare these days for a coach not to just throw out some coachspeak.

And I can also see why some guys won't want to play for Jimbo. He's very up front that he intends to be on your back every day trying to get the most out of you. Gonna do things his way, or you won't be there for long. This isn't for everybody and it will wear on some guys.

Keep this in mind on that recruiting thread. Jimbo and some recruits just aren't gonna click. He reminds me of Bill Parcells in this, where some players were considered to be "Bill Parcells guy," and some were not.

Parcells Guys

Just listened and came away with the exact same impression. His approach is quite refreshing. I'm sure he has his flaws, but as a thoughtful communicator, he is outstanding.

From your lips to God's ear! It's hard to listen to him and not get the impression that he'll deliver, especially if he's able to continuously and successfully recruit top-flight talent.

I was laughing my arse off at the game last week when the student section started chanting Jimbo's name after the TE touchdown
