agrunner’s sources are now saying Elko has had a contract in his hands all along and aggy didn’t even want Aranda.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Elko and if he’s even the next guy we go to.
If we get Elko and badass recruiters around him and close it all out by early next week I will still be very happy. If Monday comes and nobody knows who our DC will be then this will start to turn into a real CF

Elko would be a very solid hire but it’ll be tough to nab him from ND.

I agree especially if they’ve already offered him a raise and extension based on the earlier reported interest

I really hope we can land a great DC, despite missing out on Aranda. Jimbo and Aranda was pretty much a guaranteed title at some point. Jimbo and ? makes me not so sure.

Looks like Elko has been an option all along, so we will see if interested. Hope so, think he’s the best available. Apparently Pruitt was originally number one

yeah i'm pretty much with agalloch, assuming jimbo doesn't end up hiring like the 7th guy on his list, i don't really care too much.

I would prefer someone who has been a DC longer than a year but Wisconsin DCs have a great track record. I would be fine with him as long as we surround with badass recruiters. I am sure we are reaching out to several candidates though

yep, ultimately i think this is where the jimbo hire will prove successful or not. if he's able to put together a staff that can recruit at a top 5 level i think we get to where we want to be, if not and we remain around the same decent level of sumlin recruiting, then we probably fall in the 8-4 to 10-2 range. he's off to a solid start on the offensive side of the ball, based on their reputations.
