Very wrong. Guranteed three years probable to get a fourth even if he wins only two games next year.
If Orgeron was so difficult I don't see how he would've retained a majority of this staff. All I'm saying is Aranda is like our prized pig and #2 in command within our program. I doubt Jimbo can guarantee him a bigger role. On top of that it's going to take major cash which I understand A&ms got it but what are y'all going to give him 2.5 million? 3 million? I don't see A&m giving a DC head coach money even after guaranteeing 75 million.

No, it isn’t. Chavis’ riff with the AD wasn’t just with the contract terms - that was only part of the larger problem. He had problems with the AD just as Canada does. Aranda does not think highly of the AD and has similar concerns. It is not just the head coach. It is absolutely possible he is looking for an out. If this were to go down, it wouldn’t take more money, just like it didn’t with Chavis.
Not to mention the talks of Orgeron getting fired in the future have been going on all season among among a few of your regents.

Oh and the point is moot because I’m convinced we are hiring Don Brown from Michigan. It’s a great hire and we will do fine.

And to put this thread back on track, I couldn’t pry the name of our DC out of anyone after our bowl game, but I was told we are on the right track with the names being talked about in this thread. It’s not Elko or Schiano. It’s not Diaz.
And like I heard a few weeks ago, a lot of this secrecy is related to the assistants.

I'm sure Aranda is still a possibility, but agree Brown would do well too.

I think it’s Brown bringing Mattison as DL coach as you said earlier. And I will be very happy with that hire

Aranda would be awesome for the melt factor but Brown would be solid "10" hire possibility higher with who he brings along. Damn sure need someone that can recruit linemen and lb's in the southeast which is only going to get tougher with Kirby's success at UGa.

if it was needed to keep from leaking, why would anyone other than jimbo and woodward know at this point? you mean to tell me those guys have looser lips than all these "sources", or are there just that many more people that are on the need-to-know basis?

A bunch of people know at this point. The coach is about to be announced and the contract signed. We had to approve the terms of the agreement.

Boosters don't know, or they aren't saying. I'm thinking Brown as well - would love many of the possibilities mentioned as well. I'm just ready for football to not be a rap session that is all fun and games again
