In the next 3 years, who would y'all like to see as a replacement? I'm thinking if things don't work out at UT we could end up with Pruitt. I'd be ok with that I think.

Keep Robinson, he’s been grooming him

Is muschamp a bad ask? But I agree with promoting Robinson, dude recruits too well not to keep around

Well I don’t feel like that was worth a dislike /:

I don't think it is a bad ask. I figure if we end up getting one of the head coach castoffs, it would be pruitt or muschamp. Muschamp knows how to put together defenses. Even if he was a punk when he was in Austin. Maybe he's a little more humble now... Who knows. I'd be cool with either him or pruitt. My only hesitation on Robinson is experience. But maybe he's an x and o stud

I'd like Muschamp as well, but he's already decided he won't come here and coach. Some guys are just off limits. Not because "we can't get him" but he's not worth what it would take for him to come to us.

I'd love Pruitt. You can miss me with Bo Pellini

If we are betting on future failed HCs in year 1 then I will take Aranda.

Idk but we better have a budget of $2.5M

Firstly I think Aranda is a great DC but what a kick in the nuts to LSU if we got him lol

If such a hypothetical were to play out, let's just hope it works out better than the "John Chavis kick in the nuts"

After 1 year as HC y'all think he's going to go back to being a DC?

I think he was just saying "hey if we're looking at HC folks that may not work out, and we might consider a yr 1 guy, Aranda would be cool"

I'm with you. No HC is stepping back to DC after one year.

Who would you like to see as a DC if Elko goes elsewhere?

No but I don’t think OP is counting on Elko leaving after this year. He’s saying in year 3 when it is possible some programs might make a change if it’s not working out.

My guess is Aranda would move to the NFL instead of going back as a college DC

I don't want to think that he would leave first off. Has is ever been stated he wants to be an HC? If he does leave it's for a team in the NE surely.

Throw every single penny at the coordinator from Cincinnati. If not, you have to promote Robinson

He is one of the top 10 paid coordinators in the country. It’s insane not to think all of them have HC aspirations or would at least give it a try.

Yep. I should have clarified. I'm assuming Elko leaves sometime in the next few years. I want him to stay for sure, but I think he interviewed at Temple when that job opened. He'll get a shot at a big time job at some point and I imagine he'll take it if he gets a chance.

Marcus Freeman

Seems like a good one to attempt at.

Elijah Robinson

He can recruit his arse off that's for sure. The BC DC seems young like him as well.

Is it just a completely ridiculous thought that maybe he will be like a Brent venabales type coach and be a DC at A&M for awhile?

I don't think it is. I hope you're right for sure. We're not amazing this year but I think he's a really good DC regardless. Hope we can hold onto him for a LONG time

He’s one of the best DCs in the game and he recruits well I’d love to keep him for awhile
