I remember thinking last year that this might happen for LSU. They probably think it was worth it, but I'm not sure they will ever be a top 25 team again with Orgeron.

I firmly believe it’s a Chizik type trajectory, maybe softer because LSU is just going to always have so much talent. But they also won’t hesitate to fire him in a year or two when it’s obvious
My best LSU buddy continues to not give a single frick what happens after last season and I don’t blame him

They deserve every ounce of it after all the shite their Neanderthal ogre of a coach talked

At what point will Nick call off the dogs?

I don't know that he will. Really think he is insulted that Orgeron is a head coach.

What pisses me off is we should be on schedule for a 6-4ish year in this season minus the clusterfrick opener and then the mizzou game. Those 2 games are what truly sunk this season. In a regular year we’d probably be looking at 6-6. It isn’t even necessarily about the guys who were drafted or even chase opting out, losing Vincent and Shelvin really fricked up the defense. Damone Clark’s otherworldly regression has almost been canceled out by Baskerville’s improvement so im not really mad about that anymore.
I think if we avoid unexpected attrition, make good hires (not O’s strong suit) and Brennan is ok we should be on track for a 9-10 win season next year. Anything less than 8 wins and the seat will be very hot in 2022. Next year’s opener at westcoastag’s ucla is gonna be interesting

O has got to be quickly burning up any goodwill from last year saying dumb shite like this year's record is good for recruiting.

I'll just say this now. If somehow Orgeron is up by more than 34 points in the 2nd half and loses...

I’m very interested to see how O approaches next season and how well LSU actually does.
We tried to tell y’all that you hit the right combo and the stars aligned, but rant posters swore up and down they had toppled Bama as the new dynasty in the SEC. With the roster turnover plus the “passing game coordinator@ and your DC leaving, there was no way y’all were winning 9+ had this been a normal year without the virus.
O better make some good hires and fast, because I still don’t think he’s good for much other than recruiting. He’s not a strong Xs and Os coach, not that there’s anything wrong with that, Mac Brown was a similar CEO style coach and he also won a natty and played for a second. Question is, how quickly will the fan base turn on him if LSU doesn’t hit double digit wins again in the next 2-4 years?
And I agree with the OP, was fun watching even though I knew it wasn’t going to be close from the get go. O better learn, you talk smack, you better back it up, not just for one year, because people have long memories and you’ll have a target on your back.
