A&M favored vs. LSU. That is a surprise. Favored versus ND is also a huge surprise. Favored vs. Missouri? Somebody out there believes a LOT in Elko's ability as a coach. A&M's season will be based on OL play. Need a solid OL in front of whoever the QB is.

Seems to me like the oddsmakers are trying to sucker in some koolaid guzzling Aggies. We got a lot to prove this year, we have some good talent, but it hasn’t been developed under the previous staff, so beating teams like ND and LSU would mean Elko has made lots of progress and is ahead of schedule in the rebuild.

I don’t gamble, but I certainly wouldn’t be loading up on the Ags with those lines.

Oddsmakers aren't going to further skew the line towards A&M in games vs Notre Dame and LSU. That's absurd. Those schools are way more popular in the public eye.

College gameday in College Station
Nighttime kickoff
Top 10 Opponent
Arguably the biggest brand in college football

You couldn't set up a more prime opportunity for Elko to announce himself

Anyone know anything about Notre Dames returning players and what they lost to the draft and portal?

They had 2 tackles drafted in the 1st and 2nd rounds. They also has 2 LBs and a corner go. They'll be breaking in 2 tackles on the OL. That's great news for our DEs.

Their biggest boost in the portal is Duke QB Riley Leonard. I think Elko has an unfair advantage game planning for him. On the flip side they lost four WRs. The main two were Rico Flores and Chris Tyree. They were 1 and 2 in WR catches last year. The other big loss was a plus pass rusher in Osafo-Mensah (TCU). I don't think he started but was expected to this year.

I didn't really pay a lot of attention to ND last season. Looking back at their results is kind of interesting. They had 1 win (Duke) by single digits and the other 9 wins by 20+ points.

These aren't that surprising. Notre Dame isn't the best it's been the past few seasons, and Kyle Field will be rocking. Same goes for LSU. I'm surprised the Florida and Arkansas lines are that close, to be honest. Texas being favored by more than a field goal is absurd.

Elko wasn't in control in any of those games. It's a new era, my friend; have faith!

IMO the best bet on the ND game is the under 49. Both teams should have great defenses and offenses tend to stutter early season.

I agree; I'm thinking something like 23-20 will be the final score.
