If Johnny leaves like most think will happen Showers would likely be the starting QB next year as a senior.

Hell, if he was still here Johnny may have sat for Vandy and UTEP.

He also wouldn't be playing behind the Swiss cheese offensive line that just got him hurt.

Would he have been better off sucking it up and riding the pine this year in the hopes that JFF goes pro at the end of the year?

Hindsight is 20/20. Personally if I were him I would have transferred to the best academic school I could to graduate with a Master's that would help me post football. Love Showers but I don't think he is an NFL QB. I also think he would be beaten out by Hill or Allen.

looking back now, it's Matt Davis who made the bigger mistake. Jameill really just needed to be noticed, it didn't matter where at. if he wasn't going to get the starter role, he wasn't going to really get any valuable playing time. sure, he may have played a good deal over last game and this week, but I don't think that it would've been a good idea for him to rely on our actual starter getting hurt.

showers: no mistake
Matt Davis: mistake

Why do you think Matt Davis made a mistake?

I don't think either one of them made a mistake, tbh.

He did not make a mistake, IMO. I believe that he did his due diligence and concluded that upon obtaining his A&M degree, he needed to try his luck elsewhere.

By all accounts he is a good guy. He has had some shocking luck when it comes to football though. I suspect he will be a success after football.
