At the time, Sherman had an $8 million dollar buyout.

before asking this i preface that i have no idea of the financial going ons of our athletic department. Even after our Johnny and post johnny era you think it would be crippling to take the hit on Sumlins buyout?

and holy shite you are one miserable bastard if 2012 gave you no joy
2012 was more surprise than anything else.
I literally go into every game wondering how we're going to piss it away...even the games we're favored by a ridiculous amount in.

Come clean: why do you do it?

I feel obligated to watch, it's like a CHORE...like calling a relative you can't stand and would rather not talk to, but you do it out of obligation.
Or it's like a brother or sister that is constantly asking for money. You know that they will never pay you back and know they will piss it away...but feel obligated to help them anyway.

holy fricking shite man, I'm sorry but that is straight pathetic
you shouldn't even watch sports with that kind of attitude b/c you are CLEARLY the type of fan that nothing will ever be good enough for.
Sumlin could lead the team to a playoff title next year and your mopey as would be bitching about how he should have won one sooner.

Like the old joke says,
I want the Aggie Football team to be my pallbearers so they can let me down one last time.

A coach who hasn't won a conference title in 8 years as a head coach is not going to make the playoff next season.
Sumlin is our Larry Coker, but without the perfect season.

I'm curious if anyone else found themselves feeling pretty detached from the game, and the ultimate outcome? I'm normally full of nerves, but tonight I felt my inner aggy give way to acceptance. I was surprised by that emotion, and it bummed me out.
My seven year old is a quick learner at chess. Maybe she should get Spav's job.

Describes my feelings perfectly. Was at the Spurs game with my Aggie brother and his friend (also an Ag) and we were drinking and streaming the bowl game on the AT&T Center wifi. Almost didn't care about the outcome. Definitely didn't get worked up over it. No nerves at all.
Thank you, alcohol

I watched Buying Alaska instead and occasionally flipped over to check on the score. I am detached from Aggie Football now. Sad what Sumlin has done to us. Shame on him for his failure.
