Anyone posting Durkin is a moron, as he's coaching Florida's bowl game.

What is this supposed to mean? DeRuyter coached our bowl game when we fired Sherman even though he had already accepted the HC gig at Fresno

Looch said (on the radio) we turned down Steckel & Gibbs (they were lobbying) so you have to imagine if we can turn away Steckel then we're in line to get someone pretty damn good.

Agreed. I still think we can get Venables if we really push for him

I honestly would have been okay with Steckel though as a backup plan

It's Gary Darnell, the one we "wanted" all along.

I don't think Venables is/was a real candidate.

Has anyone ever been a real option? We probably couldn't convince a U of H grad student to coach our defense at this point. Why do we play football anyways? There's so many problems in the world. We're all going to die someday. Maybe we should just cancel the football program. I mean, why even try? I wonder if we sell a single ticket next year. I bet the University runs out of money next year and has to shut down. AAAAAHHHHHH!

Luicci claims there will be a couple of new names pop up in the search, one who will be a surprise. My guesses:

John Chavis
Bo Pelini
Gene Chizik

Just throwing some names out, maybe Dave Aranda, Dick Bumpus, or Justin Wilcox?

That basically means he doesn't know shite and that the new name will come as soon as message boards come up with the daily flavor of the month.

Its obvious pay sites are out of the loop and know about as much as the regular user.

Calm down, it's Bo Pelini. We dodged a serious bullet on Boom Boom.

He knows a lot - but unlike 247 he won't do anything to sacrifice his credentials or information pipelines with the administration. They basically dictate to him what information he can release in these situations or he gets no information at all.

Say what you will about the kitty, but Pelini's players love him.

Yeah, Pelini would be a great pick up, not excellent, but still great. He may be a jerk but he knows how to implement a defense.

The only downside to him is that in his latter years at Nebraska, his defenses weren't so good (#49 in 2014) but definitely better than anything Snyder put out. If its Pelini, it's definitely a splash hire, but I doubt he comes here since he will get other HC job offers.
