I'm not sure I even heard guys like Garrett, Vernon Hargraves and Todd Gurley drawing this much praise before ever taking a single snap. He is already penciled in as a starter before fall camp of his true freshman year and Spav is calling him THE hardest working receiver on a team loaded at the position.

LINK

I honestly think this guy might have a Michael Crabtree level freshman year. Word from my friend in the AD is Sumlin already believes Kirk to be the best slot receiver he has ever coached.

Wouldn't it be funny despite all this highly developed offensive talent in Texas our three best offensive players are from Arizona and Louisiana?

Me neither. I will let the sips worry about how representative their roster is of the state at large.

Christian Kirk is my favorite recruit Sumlin's signed. I've watched his highlight film more than some entire classes we've had.

When discussing A&M's starting four receivers, Spavital included Kirk with Josh Reynolds, Speedy Noil and Ricky Seals-Jones.

Texas A&M opens the season at Houston's NRG Stadium hosting Arizona State, one of many schools who courted Kirk, a Scottsdale (Ariz.) Saguaro High product and the No. 1 recruit in Arizona in 2015. (Notably, Texas A&M quarterback Kyle Allen was the No. 1 recruit in Arizona in 2014 and was also recruited by Arizona State).

Our passing game really has the potential to be sick this year. 3 of our 4 starting receivers are 5 stars...and the non-5 star is probably our best receiver. Oh, and our QB AND backup QB are 5 stars. That's a lot of potential.

The sips are steadily building a roster of Florida players that FSU, UF, & Miami passed over, so they don't have jack shite to say.

It doesn't matter anyway - you never hear national commentators talk down a team for being comprised of out-of-state players, and in-state recruits absolutely don't care whether or not the other players on a Texas team recruting them are also from in-state - I've never heard that in my life, so from the standpoint of both national perception and recruiting, our best players could be from Calgary and Hawaii and it wouldn't matter. People are attracted to watching and playing for winners. Just win.

When I first clicked this thread, I thought it was posted on the rant. They would hate it. I'm believing. And I could see Kirk pushing the rest of the receivers hard. They were all pretty complacent together last year. And now they have Allen who can get them the ball, especially deep.

RSJ played QB and safety. He's an athlete but raw. Christian Kirk is further along as a receiver than RSJ.

I was much less confident about RSJ coming out. He never showed great hands on high school film. He was a freak athlete with great receiver size. I thought it would take a while to adjust, although admittedly not this long.

Kirk is so much more polished than RSJ. They are just completely different recruits, RSJ was the raw freak athlete while Kirk is smaller but so refined as far as route running and hands go

RSJ should've been on defense and not a receiver. He was a better than average safety in high school. They put at receiver because he's such a freak athlete.
