Baseball is going to be GOOD. Looks like hiring a players' coach could pay some dividends.

I guess we found our Teddy replacement. I wouldn't count out Binderup yet either. He's got some potential.

I get that 2 of the guys we got today are returning to the team, but technically we landed the #1, #2, and #3 players in the portal per on3.

So this is what is like to have a players' coach. I like it. I love that our new coach is young, hungry, great at offense, and his staff can recruit too.

And Schott is #10, just ahead of Appel.

Rumors of our demise were greatly exaggerated

If Prager actually makes it back, we are going to be really strong once again. Need some stud pitchers out of the portal now. And a catcher.

What is our alignment looking like?

C - ???
1B/DH - Bergevin/Kash
2B - ???
SS - ???
3B - Gravohic
LF - Schott
CF - LaViolette
RF - Sorrell (need him to exit the portal asap)

If Wyatt Sanford doesn’t get drafted, I assume he’ll get one of the middle INF spots.

If we keep Wyatt Henseler, he could be 2B but I worry he’s gunna get plucked by Lsu.

Kent & Ali are unknowns for now but they’re obvious in the driver’s seat if they come back.

That just leaves the catcher’s spot.

Farr seems like a coin flip to make it to campus (more likely than Sanford) and could challenge for a MIF spot. I’m not sure I’ve seen Schott play the field but assumed he would be DH, perhaps one of him or Kash plays the OF or Bergevin is simply quality depth.

Folks are high on Sam Erickson and he seems like the polished type that could play early in LF. I think Kiel is a little more raw

Schott played a bunch of LF before Sorrell broke out. He’s not great there but sometimes you want thump over D.

At least he can get by who cares. I imagine Sorrell’s decision will play a huge part in how everyone lines up. We should score a shitload of runs regardless

Kendall

TRANSFER UPDATE: @UW_Baseball 2B/SS Aiva Arquette, Cam Clayton have entered the Transfer Portal, I'm told. Arquette is an A+ infielder who hit .325 with 14 doubles, 12 HRs, 36 RBIs in 2024. Clayton had 7 HRs and 29 RBIs last year. I'd keep an eye on A&M here with JK moving there.

Washington pitcher in portal

TRANSFER: Another potential big loss for Washington as RHP Grant Cunningham has entered the portal.

Cunningham pitched 50.1 innings this year punching 56 tickets with 16 BB. Up to 96 w/carry + deception. 55 slider + a hammer CB.

He’ll be a massive get.

Out hitting lineup is quite honestly sick at this point. If Sorrell comes back, it is a clean sweep
