Week 1 may be one of our few weeks where the backups get significant playing time and the chance to put the ball in the air.

Who do we expect to get first/most snaps should the expected blowout occur? My guess is Max, and Max is probably the 2nd most prepared guy to lead the team in a critical season; but is there value in getting Weigman as many reps as possible to see what we have in him?

And does it fit Jimbo's MO to create any sort of QB drama by giving a popular backup too many opportunities to shine?

I hope he redshirts to be quite honest. If King finishes the season as QB1 and looks the part. He will undoubtedly be the starter next season.

Give Weigman snaps next season.

King isn’t loaded with experience so I don’t mind him playing pretty late into the game. I 100% want Weigman getting the back up snaps. He can do it in 4 games & still redshirt.

Week 3 and Week 4 will probably define mcuh of how we look back on this season, so yeah you gave to do whatever it takes to best prepare the team (and really the QBs) for that critical stretch.

Jimbo seems like he's usually "by the book" on this type of stuff, so my guess is Johnson gets put in first and gets the most mop up duty, and weigman comes in for a couple series at the end.

I dont think he risks any QB controversy if Johnson comes in and plays well too, its just SHSU so not like its a great opponent.

Well we might have a new backup this week.

And in classic Jimbo fashion, in 2 games against huge underdogs, we got a total of 4 pass attempts for our backups.
