Sharp has been a double edged sword the whole way. He does what he wants and sometimes that is good and sometimes its not.
Like thanks to him we have the biggest stadium in the state and not a stadium that "makes sense for us" (aka around 95k). Or thanks to him the whole contingent of Aggies who would sell their souls to get Texas back on the schedule have been rendered powerless. Or thanks to him Jimbo has been given a wide berth and not had to deal with the fallout of BOR egos (especially the certan BOR member who got his car accidently spit on by Jimbo).
But then when he is wrong he is really wrong. Like with this AD situation, or how the demolition for Kyle seemed like amatuer hour, or how he thinks quantity always over quality. He is our benevolent dictator, and like most of those in history it will probably end badly at some point.
At the end of the day it really doesn't matter though. Scott made the hires that will carry us until the end of the Big 12 GOR period, and at that point either the coaches he hired have established A&M as a premier program in the two big sports or OU/Texas join the SEC and we are back under the shadow that was also a glass ceiling in our Big 12 era. Our window to step out as a program and become the FSU of Texas was only ever as big as that GOR no matter what our admins did. I am just glad Scott gave us our best shot before the timer runs out.

Guess I'll stay clear of tRant for a while, this is so Aggie.

i wonder how much of an impact he actually had. seems like the whole coming home factor played the biggest role

Yeah who knows. I hate that people like Feldman are reporting it because it could impact who we can get to replace him. If that stuff wasn’t true and Liucci reported it that was extremely irresponsible

I dont think so. Sounds like Sharp or co.

it seems like if he was actually bothered by sharp and all of the leadership, taking the LSU gig would be a very interesting decision

Alexander is not going to last much longer at LSU.

and if you believe the LSU posters on here, he is by far the only problem they have when it comes to institutional culture

Man, this is fricked. Real Aggie move to run off the best ad we’ve had in decades after only 3 years. Jesus Christ

As fricked up as they are, they'll show him respect and pay him what he deserves. Apparently, we are not.

Just a decade?
Are you saying he was worse than Bill Byrne and Wally Groff?!!
Woodward dared to do his job regarding men's basketball in spite of John Dull (certainly not sharp) and this is the result.

but at least it seemed like he was hands off on the AD

It’s been a shitty day boys. I don’t know how we remove him. One person shouldn’t have this type of influence.
Posted on 4/17/19 at 5:11 pm to tmc94
have you heard any possible replacement names?
Posted on 4/17/19 at 5:15 pm to WestCoastAg
Not yet. I doubt it will be a fast hire.

So sharp is yalls F King Alexander? I’m glad we’re getting Scott but as long as King and some of these other Jindal ppl are on the board the frickery isn’t necessarily gone.

I disagree. Sharp has been a problem for a while now and it would be irresponsible NOT to shine light on his behavior and actions. If enough negative attention is placed on this and if donations start dropping as a result, the regents will jettison Sharp.

Sharp is the Democrat version of Rick Perry. Chew on that one for a while.
