True Detective will have 3 leads for season 2. Pitt? Chastain? ???

I just read that Pitt and Chastain are out and the director confirmed it will be two "big" leading males.

quote:

“unofficial breakdowns floated around have listed the two leads as a fortysomething male detective/cop with Joaquin Phoenix, Christian Bale and Josh Brolin as prototypes” and that “the rumor mill in the past few weeks focused on Bale, Phoenix and Brolin as well as The Normal Heart star Taylor Kitsch for the other male lead

Just finished the last episode of TD season 1. Still a little confused with wtf Cohle was talking about during the early investigations, and how it ties in with the rest of the series. Or maybe he was just talking nonsense.

Damn

ETA: I've read the books so I'll keep my mouth shut around Roger and you. I'm just hoping they decided to end this season at the point in the book that would make the most sense. These last 2 episodes should be great if they did.

I would advise you and Roger against looking at the Hodor thread on the MTV board. There are spoilers being thrown out left and right by book readers acting like Hodors.

I don't recall specifically what you're referring to, but Cohle was a deeply hurt man. True Detective often concerned itself with the stories people tell to get through the day. The loss of his daughter forced him to hide behind a mask of cynicism and nihilism. He dealt with the realities of this world by trying to believe life had no meaning. This was nothing more than a facade, and that was especially made clear by the ending speech Cohle gave. An interesting thing to note was Cohle's habit of looking at his eye in the tiny mirror.

So, I think Cohle was talking nonsense because that's how he coped with the world.

That was back when the Super Bowls were such gross mismatches that the game was over in the 1st half...like Seattle/Denver.

I still cant believe how awful Denver played in that game. That has to have been a top 5 most disappointing Super Bowl.
