This seems like a little much. Be skeptical. I am. That's fair. But c'mon you can't just tell if someone is lying because you saw them in an interview on TV.

It actually was. The agent works for him, not the other way around.

I'm sorry but you are wrong here. It's the same agent he had that fired him a while back. Again, part of the agreement Johnny made for Burkhardt to take him back was that he has to follow the plan laid out for him. Burkhardt didn't think the deal offered was good enough so he didn't sign it. It's really that simple.

An Agent can't fire a client. He is the one that is hired to do a job. An agent can always cut ties, but to say he fired Johnny is wrong. The agent works for Johnny.

An agent can't tell Johnny what type of jobs he should take. He only negotiates and then advices. The agent gets a cut of Johnny's revenue from every deal he helps set up. His agent may have guided him wrong and told him to wait for a better deal, but if Johnny was serious about a comeback then he would have signed the final offer.

Money > Comeback.

Again, you are wrong.

An agent can fire a client. It doesn't happen as often as a client firing an agent but it does happen. For example, when Chloë Sevigny did the Vincent Gallo movie The Brown Bunny her agency dumped her b/c they thought her career was ruined. LINK

Tonya Harding got dropped by her agent Michael A. Rosenberg b/c she was demanding he fine reporters for asking about Nancy Kerrigan. LINK

Burkhardt did the same to Johnny a while back. He said Johnny wasn't listening to anyone, needed help, and he dropped him as a client. Johnny was also fired by Drew Rosenhaus as a client just a few months after that. LINK

Also, his agent can tell him what kind of job to take in certain situations. One more time, Burkhardt told Johnny that to take him back as a client he was going to have to fully commit to following his advice. It may work and it may fail. But that was part of the deal Johnny had to make to get his old agent back.

I don't know why you refuse to believe that not signing the initial deal was b/c Burkhardt told him not to when that's exactly what happened.

Just b/c a person is paying you money doesn't mean you can't terminate the business relationship.

I just gave you multiple examples of it happening w/a couple of different people as well as Johnny (twice in 3 months).

shite, you can fire clients in all fields.

My wife works in advertising her company has had to dump a few clients for a variety of reasons over the years.

Nobody is saying that. You're just confused by what "fired" means. When you quit working for your boss and leave your employer, you don't call it firing.

Same thing here.

Holy frick dude. Point is agents do dump their clients. If you don't want call that getting fired fine but its the same result at the end of the day. The agents decided their clients were too much trouble to deal with and dumped them.

This is what Burkhardt did with Johnny. He had previously dumped him and said Johnny had to follow certain stipulations if he was going to take him on as a client again. Part of that is following his advice when it comes to his attempted comeback.

I'm sorry but to say listening to his agent and not signing a deal his agent told him to not sign means he isn't serious about his comeback is just straight dumb when Johnny's biggest problem the first go around was he wouldn't listen to anyone when they would tell him what he needed to do.
