Deadwood rocked because of Ian McShane. Underrated, indeed. Doesn't top Sopranos, GOT, or Boardwalk Empire, of course but what show could?

Yeah, it's clearly BS --- all the stories on that reddit sub-board are just literary exercises - basically campfire stories.

If I tilt my head just right I can believe there are groups of wackos getting off on watching a young woman get murdered, though there's no evidence they exist as far as I know. What I don't believe is the author could so easily become a part of the viewing audience. If he could, and persisted in being such a pathetic weenie, there would still be others who would get the operation shut down and prison sentences handed out pronto.

Yeah, there's only a few good stories on that site--most are guys/gals trying too hard to be shocking at the expense of actual literary competency.

Not a bad place to kill some time reading. "Popcorn" type stories.

You young'uns may not have heard yet, but there are these things called "books" now. You might want to check them out.

I'm busted

Ray Bradbury might have approved of that story. (The missus talked me into buying Blu-Ray collection of Ray Bradbury stories. They're damn near unwatchable, but I like the author. Some things just don't translate to movies well.)

I'm currently reading a Mary Higgins Clark book. Entertaining story-teller with a mildly annoying technique of telling the entire story in first person, but that person changes from chapter to chapter and it takes me a page or so to figure out who the hell is talking.

we talking books now? I'm currently reading the Book Thief. I keep trying to stay ahead of my kindle but it's impossible. Amazon now gives me 1 free book and 1 lending book a month and it seems I get like 10+ books at Xmas.

And I just watched 42 (crappy movie) but it has me jonesing to go find my copy of Boys of Summer and Ball Four which I read about every March. Baseball season is upon us!

dude, I got given Boys of Summer when I was about 10 and have been a HUGE Jackie fan since (frick the Dodgers just to be sure though) but that movie sucked balls. It didn't tell the story in an intriguing way at all. Was really looking forward to it too.
