I'm not really sure. I'm pretty sure the whole "church" that the one guy Tuttle started is a bunch of people that are all related and they are the ones that people said were into the devil worshiping. I'm guessing that the sheriff is a distant relative and was covering up for them all, but I'm not sure what he is going to tell them.
What do you think?

I really don't know. The real interesting part of all this is that none of these characters will be in season 2. So they could do just about anything. Cohle could be the real killer for all I know. I think it's more obvious than that and you are right that it's some group. But I can't believe they'll be able to tie it all up in an hour.
But yeah, I think Tuttle, his bro the senator, the lawnmower man, and a few others were all in on some satanic shite. I'm not sure if the Sheriff is just a good ol boy that looked the other way when someone told him to or if he's involved. But shite's about to go down.

This is my problem, although I thought the same thing about Breaking Bad and their final episode was a masterpiece.
Have they announce any big actors that will be in the 2nd season? MM and WH made this one of the best shows I have ever seen, the next season will have big shoes to fill.

Yeah BB finale was exactly like this. I had no idea how it would fit but it was the most intense hour ever
I don't know about S2 actors. I was thinking about that today. With how well the show has taken off, you'd think some pretty big names might sign on. It's only 8 episodes. And HBO Movies has been big budge enough to get some A-list people recently

HBO has put out some ridiculously good shows in the past 10 years between The Wire, Sopranos, Game Of Thrones, and now True Detective.
I don't see any reason they couldn't pull a couple big names for next season. I would like to see them be the bad guys instead of the detectives. That would be pretty interesting.
