Have any of you been to Fredericksburg before? My gf and I were looking at a place to go over the weekend and came across this town. Apparently it has beer and bed n breakfast.
Also my gf loves shopping, and I was told there were many shops. For those if you who've been there before, what restaurants, shops, etc. should we go to?

used to go pretty frequently as we had a deer lease just west of it and had family that lived there. Unfortunately it's been a while and I'm not really into the crafty shops so don't have any good suggestions. I will say it's a cool little town and it's worth taking the gf to Enchanted Rock.

Bavarian Inn is overrated. Auslanders and Altdorfs are great.
Shopping is very woman centric but there are some neat shops.

ANY band they had playing out there while I went there was god awful. It's why I went with noise-cancelling headphones to walk around campus to drown that out and to make the pamphlet hander-outters make it look like I had no interest in them
