I don't consider Speedy's return game to be an argument in his favor.
how? in 2014, he was like 6th or 5th in the whole conference in punt return yards and was like 3rd in kick return yards. how in the world is that not an argument in his favor

Speedy is a below average KR
except the stats dont point to this

and lost his job as PR
because kirk is a freaking god at returning punts. im not arguing that speedy is that

As a receiver, he ha more catches for more touchdowns. That you can't even acknowledge this is ridiculous.
the fact that you cant acknowledge that the one year speedy was healthy enough to play a full season, he put up identical receiving numbers to what ricky has his whole career is pretty ridiculous as well

If a guy is 78th in the nation in KR avg, and 10th out of 15 in the SEC, would you consider it average, above average or below average?

what was he in 2014? Because he was 4th in total yards in 2014

47th in nation. 7th in SEC out of 11 guys.

Trey was 33rd in nation, 4th in SEC.

he was 6th in the SEC for people who returned at least 10 kicks. so he was more like average. that put him 70th in the country considering there were about 85 players with at least 10 returns that where behind him. combine this for him being 3rd in the SEC for punt returns and was 11th in the country for people who returned at least 10 punts, i would say his ability to return shite is definitely something that is in his favor

My argument would be that his stats as a returner are pretty comparable to everyone we've put back there.

That says more about Jeff banks than speedy.

Speedy is an incredible athlete but is not a hard worker when it comes to improving at playing the position. Even sunshine pump czar Billy Liucci has said this much. He also doesn't stay healthy, nor is he a strict observer of team rules.

Kirk is not a better WR because he played the position in highschool, it's because he has the work ethic and desire to improve. He had that in highschool as well, which is why he came in ready.

Speedy has full control of his ceiling, we'll see how far he wants to climb. He could be treadwell if he wanted.

Then I guess half this board wouldn't care if speedy was transferring.

I would care a lot more than Elijah THomas.

I like speedy, I want him to realize his potential, he just hasn't shown that he wants to as much as everyone around him wants him to.

If Speedy transfers, we can consider New Orleans closed off to us.

If Mora jumps to the NFL, which it seems is a foregone conclusion, I wonder if UCLA would come after Sumlin and I wonder if we would stop them with the shitshow in recent days

Sumlin has the best returning team he's ever had, and is about to have the best OC in the country to compliment the best DC in the country

Why would he leave?

To beat the pitchforks. The tide definitely seems to be turning against him and I think he pretty much needs to go 10-2 to satisfy the fanbase. If he gets fired after next year he won't be able to land a job like UCLA.

Also, he used USC to procure a raise. UCLA doesn't have the same resources I guess, but if he did the same with UCLA I don't see why we would act on anything
