I know MSU isn’t at the top of the standings, but going into the weekend they were playing some great ball. We went on the road and took 2/3. This is a strong series that made up for last week. Now we need to not get swept the next 2 weekends. A series win vs either is going to go a great deal to hosting. I think 16-14 is the magic number for us to lock in a host spot assuming we don’t completely shite the bed mid week or in Hoover.

It’s really tough to judge how we, hell, any SEC team stacks up to inter conference play. Yes, Florida is clearly the cream of the crop, but I think there are 8+ teams in the SEC that can really cause problems for other conference champions.
I really like post season play for baseball; it all sorts itself out on its own.

Given the SEC RPI is miles ahead of the 2nd best conference, I think the Middle will all make it. But it's a jumbled mess. Some of the Middle are going to host.
Hell with a hot finish a couple could be top 8 seeds. But a bad last 6 games and some in that range could miss entirely. It's going to be interesting how the committee treats conf record.

regardless of RPI, i just feel like the committee is going to find a way for either us or texas to host one another.
