No longer committing this weekend, which can't be a bad thing for us.

Hear this often, and it doesn't seem to have worked out much in our favor

2016 DE Brandon Bowen got released from Baylor. We never offered and I think he's overrated, but I wonder if we try to get him to get more bodies on the DL.

Going to TCU

Only reason he would do something like that is if he's going to another Big 12 school, like Tech. If he were considering transferring outside the conference it makes no sense to sit out a year and not play football when you could be in practice for that year at another school.

You're probably right.

But hypothetically speaking, if Stidham wanted to transfer to A&M, Baylor could choose not to release him. And if he chose to do so anyway, he would be forced to pay his own way that first year (while not playing), then sit out the next year while on scholarship, then finally be eligible to play in year 3.

Revealing my ignorance here, but is that how it really works? I've always wondered what the big deal was with schools releasing a player (or not) to play at Hated School X. I thought they had to sit a year no matter what (unless due to some sort of hardship and the releasing school agreed to it), but that was that and it couldn't be worse. Two years seems draconian.

And is "MCC" Meridian Community College? If so that makes no sense at all to me. He could play football at a JUCO or CC right away, right? But MCC doesn't even PLAY football.

Yeah it's a pretty f'd up situation. Not sure how or why that rule was put in place, but the schools hold all the leverage once the kid steps on campus.

Stidham would have the right to appeal Baylor's restriction, but no guarantee it would work.

Seen speculation that he would do that in order to stay close to his woman

Not a bad thing to hear from a big time 2019 QB
quote:

Speaking of Giovando, a talented 20-year coaching veteran, he’s very close with Mazzone. In fact, Rattler has known the A&M play-caller for years which is why the SEC west program will be a major contender for his services. “I’ve known Coach Mazzone since I was eleven,” Rattler said. “He’s good friends with my QB coach. Coach Mazzone is my favorite coach right now I’d say. We have the best relationship by far. I like him a lot, his personality and everything about him. He’s just a real cool coach and he knows a lot about the game.

Great name, too

Mazzone is KILLING it! Landed Mond by building a good relationship and this article says he has a great relationship with this kid. Man that's good to see

He's responsible for starkel, too. Got the QB position right, on paper at least, in less than 6 months.

He and Jim Turner are paying immediate dividends off the field. If they can match that production on the field, we'll have a damn good team.

Bama linebacker, Adonis Thomas, joins 2 defensive back (Shawn Burgess-Becker and Maurice Smith) in transferring this off-season. Still no national outrage from ESPN against Nick Saban.

Any interest from A&M?
