LSU isn't after mond so I'm not sure we should be concerned

Most insiders believed Ausbon would follow Mond to A&M if he came here.

It's certainly not looking good.

It's not upsetting anymore, I've accepted our fate.

You are a broken record. They didn't commit to A&M the first time. What made you think they would pick the school the next time?

I'm a broken record that you need the best players to win. We'll be at a sizeable disadvantage before we even step on the field, with the way Sumlin is recruiting.

How many WRs do we need to recruit this year based on the depth chart and the new scheme?

I'm not ready to throw in the towel yet. I told you that I believe this staff is recruiting more regionally if not nationally. Official visits haven't even begun yet.

It's not just WR. What positions are we landing elite players right now?

If you consider Jhmond Ausmon "elite" and not a "Blue Chip, we are landing a ton. We signed no less than 12 players that wee rated 4* or better by at least one of the 4 major agencies last year. Trevor Knight, the returning Jordan Mastogiovanni, and TD Moton, if he gets in, were also of that caliber.

Transfers Priest Willis and Keith Ford, as well as, signee Justin Maduibuke were rated 5* by at least 1 agency which is better tha Jhamon Ausbon or Mannie Netherly.

Currently commits Travis Etienne, Derrick Tucker, Grayson Reed, and Roshauud Paul are the same caliber recruit. You could argue that Santino Marchiol, Keldrick Carper, and Myles Jones are pretty close too.

Then we landed

I guess I must just be imagining that recruiting has fallen off a cliff for 2016/2017 and everything is fine

That is still a bunch of talent at WR. Kirk, Noil, Inheanacho, Davis, Chriss, and Siverand are all 4* or higher. Rashauud Paul and Keldrick Carper are 4* caliber too, even though most expect Carper to play defense.

Nah, but I think unlike say 2015 this isn't a sky is falling situation. They sky already fell, it's about playing out the cards we have on hand. That is why everyone is chill about bad news.

0 commits from the top 20 players in Texas:

I am not trying to be a negative nancy, just sayin why a lot of us are waiting to see what kind of season we have before we decide to get our hopes up (or not) about recruiting this year.

We had 2 top 20 recruits last from the state last year in Diesch and Madubuike. We had the #21 player in Davis. That didn't stop you guys from melting last year.

Because last year we had hopes for better, as we recently had classes filled with elite players. This year without a nine win or better season there is no rational reason to hope for better.

I don't want to say that is a good thing per say, but it does make this recruiting cycle less stressful.

Bc that's not good imo. I'm guessing lsu & bama got more or equal to that amount in our state while also retaining more top talent in their respective states. & 5 win tu got more so puke lol

Bama had 22 recruits last year and only 6 were from AL. They got 4 from TX, though 1 didn't qualify. If A&M wants to be like Bama, we need to get the best players available nationally.

Or quit screwing things up at home and land the elite talent that is 1-4 hours away from campus.

2 of the top 20 is fran/Sherman levels of bad recruiting.

And we probably won't even reach that number this year.

Until then we've gotta win at home and try to keep in state talent here
