Whew. Didn't get to watch. Auburn can hit the ball, but man we gave up a lot of runs this weekend.

Nevertheless:

I'm not going to fully melt on our pitching just yet: that Auburn lineup was on fire. They came in with sky-high averages to begin with, and hit some tough pitches. But we can't let that happen much more, if at all.

Ags #2 in the first 3 released polls. I expect to be #2 in all of them, but I don't really feel like we're the 2nd best team in baseball. The potential is there and I think we're top 10 good, but our pitching just got smacked around enough to worry me a ton.

yeah, nothing I saw this weekend makes me think we're #2

In fact, I'd seriously consider reworking on weekend rotation. Larkins never threw this weekend so maybe he's slated to go Tuesday but Hill needs to be a weekend starter

So that means Hill is either getting a start or is getting the role of bridge to Hendrix/Ecker. For years RC has had someone to lean on the bridge it from starter to closer. It is usually a fairly significant role in RC bullpens.

If we take the series this weekend LSU is in a world of hurt starting 2-4 or 1-5. And it keeps us on track to compete for a national seed.

Boomer's defense is so damn good. Just made a great pick in the top of the first.

CC's pitcher having a tough time throwing strikes (though he did K Banks). 4-0 with 1 out and 2 on.

We're picking up right where we left off. 7 runs and its only the 2nd inning.

Gonna be a long game if they keep allowing 9+ batters every inning.

I'm sure that CC pitcher knows how to throw strikes, but that looked like pure intimidation.

boring game but good to take care of bizness.

Good to see this series is on SECN but a little annoying that we are playing shooty hoops at same time

Based on some RC comments, believe the pitching matchups will be

Thu: Vines vs Poche
Fri: Ivey vs Lange
Sat: Simonds vs Valek

Looking like Hill is just the setup guy this week

Moving forward, I would like to see something like this.

Vines-6, Hill-2, Hendrix-1
Ivey-6, Schlottman-1, Ecker-2
Simonds-6, Hill-1 to 2, Hendrix-1 to 2

Obviously more if we we can more than 6 from our starers, but they have no considerately shown they can go deep.

Possibly Larkins in there to bridge the gap on Sat or in if a starter cannot make it 6.
