he apparently did although no Yessir yet
Looks a lot like the old Mizzou TEs. My big concern with him is how he'll fill out. Had him on campus today and I'm sure they did the full workup so we have a pretty good idea. But he looks pretty thin to me

Don't know anything about him but just looking at the position I can tell you I like it.
If we move closer to Mizzous spread offense in lateish 2000s when Christensen was OC, and they featured two TEs a lot and successfully rotated three backs, I will be a very happy football fan.

he's really tall. He looks a bit like Nacho in that he's somewhat thin. Probably a hybrid. He does have a bit of nastiness to him so you can really see him playing TE but he's going to need to grow some to block SEC quality DEs
He has picked up offers from Oregon, Washington, Mizzou etc in the last 2 weeks so his stock is way up and most of the spread teams around the country really like him.

@gkketch Love the commitment of Zarrian Holcombe for the Aggies. One of my favorite under-the-radar prospects in the entire state.

I'm trying to figure that out

I was dumb enough to read his 5,000-word explanation for why the tu junior day was successful. In addition to stating that tu was gonna sign Monroe, he said this:
I can't even...

Instead of acting like a 16-year-old boy on his first date, wondering whether he can cross home plate when he hasn't so much as taken a swing in the batter's box, Strong channeled his inner Leo DiCaprio on a yacht full of supermodels...
I can't even...

I really hope he tries to be a cocksucker in an effort for clicks instead of actually being that terrible

From Scout:
Only questionable part was about him not shutting down his recruitment. Why commit right now if you aren't going to shut it down? JMO. Really makes me applaud how Fuller has gone about his business. Dude is so committed to A&M that other schools have stopped wasting their time recruiting him.
quote:
Holcombe’s father accompanied him on his visit and was all for his immediate commitment. They both sat down with Head Coach, Kevin Sumlin, together and an offer was extended.
This was the first time Holcombe had ever communicated with coach Sumlin, as before he had only been in contact with tight ends coach Jeff Banks.
"When coach Sumlin offered me I felt the need to commit,” Holcombe informed, "I felt like why not just do it while I was still there. Why wait?”
"I mean it’s the SEC,” Holcombe said when asked why he felt the need to commit, "It’s a great conference and a great team, and academically they provide a lot. Why not go to a school like A&M?”
Holcombe said a big part of what drove his commitment is the academic counselor they provide the athletes.
He got a chance to speak with the head academic counselor before he got his offer. Holcombe says he likes that he will be provided with any help and assistance that he needs to succeed, as academics are important to him.
After speaking with the coaches, Holcombe says that A&M plans to implement him into their offense as a flex tight end. Holcombe said that the coach Sumlin likes that he can be used as a receiver as well as a tight end, and sees a lot of talent that isn’t seen in others.
This three-star says he is not shutting down his recruitment, but is solid to A&M and feels that this is where he will be calling home for four years.
"An hour and a half away from home can only feel like home,” Holcombe finished.

I got to the point a long time ago where I don't count a recruit as "in the fold" until they announce they're shutting down their recruitment. A commit means nothing to me anymore but lip service to one of the schools they're considering.
Happy he seems to be so sold on TAMU, though. Discerning individuals know Aggieland is the place to be, without a doubt

A couple new guys we offered in the last 24 hrs...
Trevor Speights, rb, mid 3-star 12th from McAllen, TX
And...
J.C. Chalk, TE, high 3-star kid from Argyle, TX currently committed to Clemson.
Chalk is also a descendant of Gene Stallings too believe it or not. Interesting tidbit there.
Discuss.

Hamm said he expected a decommitment before or soon after FNL. I assume he's talking about Cleveland. This is why I can't get excited about a guy committing in the fall of his junior year. Fuller type of guys are the exception.

There was a pretty lengthy update on TA today. I just skimmed but no mention of a decommit. I would assume it's Cleveland also though. It does seem like we are in pretty good shape for Dickson at least

It's so easy to negatively recruit our depth. Did TA mention anything about likely commitments we'll pick up? Hopefully Tray?
