he is, whether you like it or not

he probably sat in front of all of these kids and said the same thing he always does "the best players are gonna play, doesn't matter what year you are"

definitely, Sumlin being such a straight shooter was a detriment this recruiting cycle

Is that fair? Do we know for sure that Sumlin "blew it" with any recruits this cycle?

Seems like Sumlin tried hard but the negative momentum from both QBs leaving and the AD being fired didn't give him much ammo.

We weren't going to ride that JFF momentum for forever, and in case yall missed it the national media hasn't given up on Texas.

well, we weren't in the living rooms so who knows, but we had more going on to use against us negatively than before.

if we dont win 10 games next year we are going to have a class that will remind many of you what a real bad class really is

Oh, we remember. I remember at least. I have been following recruiting for a while.

It was different then. Back in say 2009 I got excited about each recruit because I had hope that one would break the NFL draft streak we had going. I hoped they could do well enough to beat Texas Tech so the Tards in my life couldn't talk shite. I didn't hope for titles or expect them.

I wish I could go back almost. 2009 me would have been very excited about this class.

I honestly don't think we need to win 10. We have to win BIG games. Not saying 7 0r 8 will get it done. But 9 wins and some BIG wins will not destroy the 2017 class. The only reason I think so, is because Martell is a beast on the recruiting front. We severely lacked that this year, plus all the uncertainty.

If we win 9+ with big games under our belt. There is no longer a QB problem. Sumlin rumors will probably quiet down, and we would probably come out looking much better than texas. If they win 9 or more (which I doubt) than all bets are off at that point.

Didn't follow recruiting this year at all.

Anyone want to do a quick recap about the entire year? Good class or bad class?

Okay let me explain myself since people naturally assume and misinterpret bc that's all you can do when reading messages like these

1. The kids we signed are good at football
2. They aren't as good as the kids that signed w/ bama, LSU, ole piss etc (the teams we play)
3. The class didn't fill our needs. We have the worst lb corps in the sec and got two more mid tier guys. Same with the OL
4. I'm really excited for a few guys. Madu & QD are two I really wanna see on the field this summer/fall. Think both have the ability to be excellent.

Being objective is important at times. Recruiting is one of those times.
