I read that Kendrick Rogers was carted off the field on a back board last night. That sounds bad. Hope the young man is okay.

Tyrel Dodson has "inside info that will be release soon". Assuming this means a silent commit will go public tonight

If I was a silent commit, I think I'd remain silent after tonight's game. but perhaps they will see a chance for early playing time.

If we didn't lose a few commits tonight it'll be a miracle

I note that this we are going with this H-Back thing again this year. At least partly, I guess, because we don't trust our blocking up front.

Has the staff thought about recruiting a fullback, instead, I wonder? Such a player could block and occasionally carry the ball, too.

I realize they talk alot about the One Back Offense, but this H-Back kind of contradicts that. I also realize that fullbacks are on the endangered species list, so aren't easy to find.

Or we could put a blocking TE up on the line of scrimmage. I hope the Irvin Smith kid from Louisiana can block some. And also Davis improves. I'd just rather go with a good TE than an H-Back.

So with Diesch in the fold, that puts us with 4 additions on the OL.

Tackle: Diesch & Anderson
Guard: Prater & Anderson

Diesch has a good frame. He can grow some.

I wonder if we're done there on the OL. Not that this unit couldn't use more attention, but we need help ASAP at LB, and we only have one (Dodson) currently committed.

Glad to hear about Diesch's commitment, though I'm kind of there with Sarge, yesterday's game was really deflating. I also remember how differently things looked a year ago when the top two OTs in the country were committed to us. I know that's the nature of college recruiting and early commitments, but how great things looked when Little and Hudson were both committed to us.

Given the coaching ties I understand Hudson's decision. Does anyone know what happened with Little? Was it just a a matter of getting caught up in the Murray hype, committing too early without considering all options, the coaching change, not getting post-commitment love or what?

Just curious, but glad to have Diesch and Anderson on board.

he has had one of the most obvious dirty recruitments in recent memory and our bagmen have failed

Maybe this is just sour grapes...but what if Little has similar struggles to Murray (star player on a STACKED team who struggles to adjust to the college level) but expects to start right away as a true freshman?
