All Sumlin has to do to get Michigan out of the picture is show him the weather in Ann Arbor this week and explain it is a mild week because it will have a few hours where it is actually above freezing. Chavis is the key for the Ags, just don't know if it is enough.

What about Jaylon Lane? Why hasn't he been picked up?

The more that gets out, the more it sounds like Sumlin's arrogance really cost him this recruiting cycle. It cost him Sheffield, Jefferson and possibly several others given how much sway two more five stars would have had.

Dude needs to seriously reconsider his stance that he is above pandering to teenagers.

A poster on 247 is convinced that McKinney and Joseph are the problems. Claims to have inside information.

If two of the coaches you hired and who operate under your supervision are failing miserably, that is YOUR fault.

If they are the problems, then by definition Sumlin is a problem until he gets rid of them.

honestly it's clear from way back that you've decided this so every time you hear anything that potentially confirms your bias you post it here. Just like your melt over Malik, you don't have all the info or you are only listening to the parts that confirm your beliefs. Sumlin is very egotistical. Every single big time college coach is very egotistical though so it's really meaningless info

So Kendrell McFadden isn't committed anywhere and shows an offer from A&M. Do we have a shot?

I don't even remember us offering him. It looks like he has a lot of big time offers and zero OVs. That's usually a sign that he's JUCO bound but I dunno. Did you hear something on him?

The difference is that Nick Saban puts that aside and treats every recruit like they are the greatest thing he has ever laid eyes upon. Sumlin walks into a room and expects recruits to just fall over themselves trying to sign with him.

No that's not the difference at all. That's your perception because you've chosen to decide that because it satisfies some underlying belief. What is it based upon? How much time have you spent with either?

Also, Kevin Murray's interview with Texags is pretty funny. Dude comes across as kind of an a-hole

The prevailing story from coaches, recruits, parents and reporters regarding both.

Saban's ability to make recruits feel like the most important person in the world is arguably his most famous coaching trait.

What would the reason be why Joseph and McKinney would be problems?

Wait, we are melting tonight? I didn't get the memo. I am very happy with this class now when I take a step back. Did it nail every need 100%? No, but we fired the second most important coach in the middle of the recruiting home stretch and we still ended up here.

If you need to feel a little better go lurk some Baylor, TCU or Tech forums.

It's not a melt, just saying Sumlin needs to make some changes. The difference between the #2 class and the #12 class was largely our own mistakes.

This is what he posted re: McKinney and Joseph

quote:

$458,000 – the annual compensation of Claire McKinney. Yes, the same Claire McKinney who, along with his partner in crime Terri Joseph, failed to call Kendall Sheffield for weeks/months at a time. The same Clairence McKinney who has spent a good deal of his time alienating Texas high school coaching staffs – and that personally cost us an EE stud RB to OU because he simply could not keep his mouth shut. There are 10 stories this year alone of this guy costing us key recruits. Your RB coach has to be an ACE. The opinions on this guy are split at best, and he continues to get slaughtered on the recruiting trail – in effort and in results. And, Texan Terri Joseph; where do we start with this guy? Floating his resume on social media to try to get a job – and we oblige. This is the mastermind behind the CB recruiting strategy employed and the blowhard who likes to tell the world/TexAgs just how many studs we are going to land. Before we give this guy too much credit for Bussey, wait until the whole story on that UT recruitment comes out. Perroni could’ve closed that kid. The ongoing employment of these two misfits is completely unacceptable by any SEC team. They are not good enough – and it is obvious, increasingly, and Sumlin’s inability to make prompt coaching decisions is going to plague this program. Kevin, reassign your friend to a desk job, and go get a real recruiter, and do something with Terri J, now. Since you did not see enough on the field from them to justify a quick exit, this close should have sealed it. I have been asked not to share additional stories on these two “coaches,” but it will be interesting to see if we make a move here. If not, Sumlin has blinders on like he did with Snyder – and it is going to really cost us.
