-I've said all along that I think the Aggies will find a way to pull something off at corner but it's been pretty tough to figure out which of the three guys left on the board is most likely to pull the trigger and flip to A&M. If I were to make a prediction right now, it would probably go something like this:

1 Kris Boyd 2 Justin Martin 3 Kendall Sheffield

The reason? Based on everything I'm hearing from sources on both sides of their respective recruitments, Boyd and Martin want to play at Texas A&M. in the case of Kris, there are very few influences in his life currently pushing him towards the Aggies and those same folks are steering him towards Texas. As for Martin, as I've said before, his mother wants her son playing closer to home in Tennessee (she lives in Nashville).

That said, both recruits have been in contact with the Aggies today and Martin spoke directly with Kevin Sumlin this afternoon or evening (as did his mother). Again, if Martin gets his way, he'll be inking with A&M tomorrow but I'm still not confident it will happen. As for Boyd, I've been told by sources connected with his recruitment that this one will "literally come down to the moment he puts pen to paper." He'll have both LOIs in front of him tomorrow and would have to simply sign with A&M and not look back.

-There is some buzz from a few connected with A&M (a couple of steps removed from the program, mind you) who are convinced that Roquan Smith will be an Aggie. As I've maintained first and continue to say, that's a very realistic possibility. However, anyone trying to say that Smith has informed the A&M coaches that he's on board is passing around bad information. Why? Because there isn't one - and I mean not one - college coaching staff that has even the slightest idea where the four-star Georgia linebacker is headed. Since returning from his UCLA visit, Smith has talked to NO ONE and he plans to keep it that way until tomorrow, when he'll choose between the Bruins, Aggies, Michigan and UGA. Based on the information I was given tonight from someone close to his recruitment in Georgia, Roquan's plan is to sit down with his head coach first thing in the morning and discuss his decision before signing mid-morning. Somewhere between that sit-down and when he signs his LOI is when one lucky program will find out.

-All is quiet on the Daylon Mack front and, for the Aggies, that's a good thing. Hold on tight, because we're coming up to the finish line in one of the wildest recruitments I can ever remember.

-Brice is much more confident than I am on this Damarkus Lodge thing (actually, he just has a gut feeling that I hope is right) but I still think this one is a real longshot as all signs have pointed to Ole Miss for about a week now. A couple of notes that could help you form an opinion: First, there hasn't been much communication at all between Lodge and the Aggies since A&M's quick in-person visit last Friday. That's the negative. The thing to keep in mind that might bode well for the Ags is that, if you remember, Lodge tried to throw a lot of folks (including those on the Aggie coaching staff) off the scent when he originally committed to A&M this summer. Combine that with the fact that Ole Miss' class is currently coming apart at the seams and it's being well-publicized and you may have something there. Still, I'm going with the Rebels here because I get the feeling that he's already gone all in with Hugh Freeze.

-Kendall Sheffield and his family plan to reach a final decision sometime tonight, which - at the very least - means that A&M is still in the hunt. I don't expect any sort of announcement but do think both programs will know where they stand very shortly. The interesting thing here is that I'm now hearing that Sheffield's family is having second thoughts and may suddenly prefer to see their son playing close to home while, as I said the other day, seems pretty happy with the idea of being coached directly by Nick Saban at corner in Tuscaloosa. There very interesting tug-of-wars going on with the Ags' trio of cornerback targets.

-Finally, a few of you have asked about Warren-Easton WR Tyron Johnson possibly being a late flip from LSU to A&M and it doesn't sound like that's going to happen. There was actually some thought given by the Johnson camp to sign late and visit Aggieland this weekend but I've been told that's no longer an option and Louisiana's No. 1-ranked recruit will sign with the Bayou Bengals tomorrow. Interestingly enough, the five-star pass-catcher was actually considering choosing the Aggies when he announced for LSU in early January. It came from seemingly out of nowhere, but Tyron's camp contaced A&M and asked if he still had a spot in the class literally one hour before he held up a personalized, authentic LSU jersey.

Interesting stuff on Johnson. He's also making it seem like Martin is a possibility. I dunno, I'm not terribly confident on anyone besides Mack, who it sounds like is pretty much in the bag

No one saw the Johnson thing coming. Wow. Sumlin is a master at keeping things under wraps.

I don't know. I felt like Looch's update was pretty positive Gave me hope for Boyd, Martin, and Smith.

If we had landed Johnson like two days after stealing Chief they might have banned all Aggies from this board

Boyd's story is IMO more convoluted than Macks.

I just think flipping people is so difficult that I don't think it happens until it does, im only not buying into the roquan smith stuff 100% because UCLA seems so confident. im in a win win scenario with that one

I'd say Boyd's was more murky between two opposing forces whereas Mack has been a whirlwind with interest at tons of places.

Been damn interesting crootin season anyways. Now on to 10,000!

I guess when Sumlin says he's personally taking over someone's recruitment, shite gets real.

I don't think TJ is Looch's "wildcard." Looch had Mack first and "wildcard" second in order of probability. This must be the west coast recruit??

We get Mack and I'll say we pull a shocker with Martin. Smith to UCLA, Lodge to OM. Everyone else stays where they are
