Well, Roger is convinced that Kyler was never going to tu. This is all either a "tantrum" that the Murrays will get over or he'll commit elsewhere (Oregon, OU).

Swagger, your dude really thinks this is going down? Ags don't have much of a shot at keeping him?

Damn, that's crazy Locksley committed. With Gentry already on board, you would think it helps our case for Murray?

All I gotta say is, this shite is downright fascinating.

Gentry is decommiting and probably going to Michigan
Also, Kyler probably won't have problems beating out anyone at tu for the starting job. It just sucks for all the other QBs Strong promised the starting job to

where this conversation is going is world's off base. If you don't have info, why do y'all feel the need to assign blame for things that might happen.

So 4-star dual threat QB/athlete Kai Locksley just committed to Texas. He was committed to FSU. Timing seems weird.
Really?

If the only reason Malik isn't an Aggie right now is because Sumlin couldn't bring himself to say "Well I'm in talks with a an elite, top-5 coordinator and I expect it to go down in the next couple of weeks but I can't use names because he is still under contract at another school" then I have a problem with that.
I hate to contribute to this madness, but here it goes.
No single recruit is bigger than the program. Sumlin did the right thing here. I'd rather have a 5 star coach over a 5 star LB any day, all day, errday. 5 star players come and go every 3 years, 5 star coaches don't. They, especially DCs, are like Halley Comets.
Sumlin was not going to hurt his chances to bring in a top DC just so he can please a 5 star LB, especially after Chavis had told Sumlin to keep everything under wraps until after the bowl game. Besides, as far as we all know, Chavis came in late into the picture, so Sumlin wouldn't have known who his DC was in mid-December.

The silence from all Aggie mods is deafening.

Like I said, if this FSU guy really just switched to Texas. That has to have an effect. They will have to sort that out. For every action, there's a reaction. I think this only could have helped. But I do believe that Kyler does not want to go to A&M right now.

Looch just put out an update. Says the meeting with Spav was good and productive. Sumlin is doing an in-home on Thursday. Sounds 50/50 with Thursday being determinative.

I just want to state for the record before anything else goes down that I fricking hate the longhorns more than any team in this country. Hope their entitled program burns to the ground

If you're right swagcopter, then I bet he chooses MLB.........UT would be a foolish choice for a football career. If he really is ticked off at the A&M staff and wanting to go elsewhere for football, then it makes more sense to go to Oregon.

Thanks for remaining cordial while discussing that school. I admire your restraint, sir

Your wish is granted. Pulled from Shaggy... Lucci wrote this. First time I have seen it, may not be new to a few folks.

Let's just dive right into this thing with the latest on Allen QB Kyler Murray and where things stand with the three-time state champ and the Aggies (and Longhorns). I'm just going to post a few quick-hitting notes as we head into the weekend:
- Jake Spavital and new receivers coach Aaron Moorehead were at Allen HS today (prior to stopping in at Cedar Hill). The Aggie OC/QB coach met with Murray in the mid-morning. Feedback I've gotten following the visit has been positive but nothing enough to convince me that the Aggies aren't in an extremely tight battle for the star quarterback's services down the stretch.
- The Aggies will be in-house with the Murray family on Thursday. That could be the final face-to-face meeting that Kyler, Kevin and Missy have with any college staff before National Signing Day...unless Murray decides to return to Austin next weekend for a second visit which sounds unlikely. I'm told that the upcoming in-house could end up being pretty decisive, one way or the other.
- The fact that it's come down to perhaps one final visit is mind-blowing on several levels but what doesn't add up at all is the fact that Texas could be the choice here. It doesn't pass the smell test from a football standpoint, which is what Kevin and Kyler have always seemed to be all about. Texas can tell Kyler that he'll be the next Teddy Bridgewater in their offense and they can say that they'll open things up but the fact is that he's passing up the opportunity to play at places like not only Texas A&M but also the likes of Oregon and Oklahoma. Those programs boast far superior supporting casts and have proven far more productive than the sad-sack outfit the Longhorns put on the field last fall. I'm sure Texas is blaming everything on Tyrone Swoopes' ineptitude under center but the Murrays are both students of the game and would see through that, remaining focused on the actual offense itself. As I've said before, Oregon always seemed like the biggest threat to me but it's the Longhorns, not the Ducks who could very well pull this thing off. Still, all I keep hearing from my sources is that Kyler believes that he'll thrive in the system the same way that Teddy Bridgewater did at Louisville, perhaps losing sight of the production of the A&M offense the past three years and particularly when Johnny Manziel was at the helm.
- Baseball is not a huge factor in Murray's college decision (pro baseball could, of course, eventually be a different story) and if anyone says otherwise, they are creating a smokescreen to deflect from the mysterious nature in which this whole thing suddenly developed. Kyler did meet with Augie Garrido and the Longhorn baseball staff during his one-day visit to Austin on Wednesday but he was afforded the same opportunity during his official visit to Aggieland over the weekend.
- Texas and head coach Charlie Strong guaranteed Murray the starting job and it's something that A&M has yet to do. Considering the Ags didn't even guarantee the No. 1 spot to Kyle Allen a year ago despite not even having a returning starter on campus is proof positive that it's not something that we'll see happen this time around, either. What Sumlin has proven during his time at A&M, however, is that the best player will start, regardless of age or experience level (see Myles Garrett, Armani Watts, Speedy Noil, Josh Walker, Ricky Seals-Jones and Otaro Alaka this year). If the Aggies haven't proven to Murray how important a piece to the puzzle they believe he is and that they believe he's capable of taking the field as the starter against Arizona State next fall in Houston, I'm not sure if it's possible. All they've done up until this point was make him their first 2015 offer, take his commit and completely shut down everything else at the position (including turning down more than one overture from nationally-ranked signal-caller Jarrett Stidham of Stephenville) and hang in despite risking everything in terms of possibly entering next season with just one scholarship quarterback on the roster.
- One also has to wonder how such a guarantee will go over with guys like Tyrone Swoopes, Jerrod Heard and current Texas commit Zach Gentry. I know Texas fans would have no problem with the promise if it meant landing Murray but, if things flip late and the Ags land Kyler, the Horns will be in dire straits at the position. In addition to continuing to recruit Gentry (despite the fact that all signs point to him flipping to Michigan after this weekend), the Horns are hosting nationally-ranked signal-caller and Florida State commit Kai Locksley today and tomorrow, as well.
- From where I sit, Murray seems pretty conflicted at the moment, perhaps even confused and a little frustrated with the ongoing saga. Of course, all of that came about only after the crew made the drive from Dallas to Austin on Wednesday. Bottom line: This could still go either way and it looks like Aggie and Longhorn fans alike are in for a roller-coaster ride between now and NSD. Today's visit to Allen was productive from the standpoint that the Ags needed the face-to-face meeting to begin to hash things out with Kyler in regards to washing off some of the excitement from the Austin visit but if you were hoping for an 'all clear' signal from this corner, you're not getting it tonight. Again, the Aggies still hold Kyler's commitment, (contrary to false reports that surfaced last night and that some of you seem to not mind as long as there's simply news reported) he's not planning to announce anything during the early portions of the week (if at all) and Murray will host Coach Sumlin and Co. for his final in-house visit on Thursday.

Sorry I slept in
I just read Looch's update from midnight. I guess it all comes down to Thursdays in house with Sumlin.
Something's up though, there is a selling point that tu is offering that we are not figuring out. The kid that was committed to FSU???? They won it all a year ago, they made the playoffs this year.....they will let kids ball at multiple sports and have an easy student degree program with top notch facilities....
Why would a kid dump that to commit to sips shitty situation? The sips have no offense and no hope for an offense next year. They have a promise to Kyler to be the starter if he comes and two other a a scholarship QB's there already.
Friggin bag men are running up and down 6th street
It makes no sense to jump in the dumpster fire that is tu.
