He doesn't but his father does (?)

Looks like we're scatter shooting to land another RB this late in the game.

Seems like flipping Bussey is our best bet. He apparently woke up that morning set on going to A&M. Changed his mind a few hours before his announcement. TJ needs to earn his keep here.

I don't understand that at all, why change your mind like that?

The whole shite that happened that morning probably scared him off. I dunno, kids go places for stupid reasons sometimes

quote:That comment reminds me of Harvey Williams back in '86. One of the top RB prospects in the country, the Hepstead RB was considered an Aggie lock. He had every intention of signing with A&M, but that changed as he was on his way to sign his LOI. He said two girls started singing the Aggie War hymn as he walked down the hall. It ticked him off that everyone assumed he was going to A&M, so he changed his mind, shocked everyone and signed with LSU. And thus began my disdain for the tigers.

Lol. How did that work out for him?

We are basically recruiting so many new players / bringing so many new players into the fold that I have given up trying to keep track of it. Every time I look we are offering a new out of state CB/LB/RB and have interest from some guy I didn't even know was on our radar.

He never became the stud RB many expected, so he disappointed many, but expectations were pretty high. He actually had a decent college career and ended up getting drafted in the 1st round, but his career was always more promise than production.
The worst part for me was the that the player I had come to hate was drafted by the team I grew up rooting for (Chiefs). Making matters worse, he was a bust in KC, but when he went to our most hated rival (Raiders), he put up a couple 1000 yard seasons.
Harvey Williams screwed me at every stop of his career!

Mr. Claude George looks like a legit 230.
Here he is in HS. I'd say he added "good" weight.
Posted on 1/8/15 at 9:47 am to Farmer1906
He's a big dude. Judging by film, anyone have a clue whether he has a chance to play next year?
Posted on 1/8/15 at 10:25 am to TexasAg13
George is very physical and has great burst. He needs to work on technique, particularly lowering his strike zone. His JUCO film has about 10 borderline targeting calls in it. But he's extremely aggressive and has great lateral quickness, something a few of our current LBs really don't have.
honestly it's really early to say as everyone is starting fresh but I'd look for a starting LB crew of George-Hilliard-Alaka.

Hilliard at MLB?
How hard is it for these guys to move LB positions?

Hilliard actually was going to be our backup Mike this year
And for this year, everyone is learning a new scheme so it doesn't matter as much imo

Really hope we make a hard run at Justin Martin (who just committed to UTk). He's exactly what we need after missing on Sheffield.
And we officially offered. Martin committed to UT just after Chavis left. Scheduling a visit with us now
quote:
The John Chavis to Texas A&M news continues to have a ripple effect on LSU recruiting. Today, four-star junior college cornerback Justin Martin has committed to Tennessee and Chavis' departure is a primary factor in that decision.
"I've officially committed to Tennessee," Martin said on Wednesday. "I wanted to go to LSU but then Chavis left to go to Texas A&M."
Because Chavis was such a primary factor in Martin's interest in the Tigers, his departure made Martin's decision easy.
Also Amadi signed financial aid documents with us. Not saying he'll flip, but he's taken the steps necessary if he decides to do so. The two CBs are actually linked. They attended the same HS and are apparently pretty good friends

How do they compare to Boyd and Hill?
Posted on 1/8/15 at 3:09 pm to TexasAg13
Martin starts day one. I don't know much about Amadi tbh
Posted on 1/8/15 at 3:14 pm to tmc94
Hope Martin can get a visit scheduled.
I still think the quality of our facilities is relatively unknown throughout most of the country. Thus a chance to blow kids away from out-of-state.
