Such a ridiculous thing. I'm betting Joeckel saw more playing time if he had stayed at A&M this year.

He's thrown 21 passes at TCU, it's a pretty low bar.

Yep - this is going to definitely hurt State's reputation in Texas (especially Metroplex area)

no idea if it's related but to have a Metroplex player decommit the next day is, well, a little coincidental

2017 Plano East LB Anthony Hines III MT @2017D1Prospect After speaking with parents & coaches, have decided to de-commit from Ms State

ETA: it does appear this is related. Here's another Hines tweet from today

Not that it's surprising or anything, but Malik's top 7 (in no order): Baylor, Texas, Texas A&M, OU, LSU, TCU, UCLA

Jeff Howe (Texas 247 reporter) more or less conceded Malik to A&M today, saying it would take a perfect visit on his trip to Austin to change his mind.

I hope you guys feel comfortable with your servers, because this site is going to burn to the ground on December 19th

With all of the issues in B/CS since the beginning of this year (arrests/dismissals) and the abysmal play of the aggy defense, its mind boggling that the state's best defensive players are trending to A&M over Texas. Just don't get it. Kevin Sumlin has a history of doing jack shite with defensive players

I know.... I'm with ya.. at this point, i'm just expecting him to choose A&M and laugh about it to stop me from being so confused as to why someone of his caliber would go to play for that defensive staff.... i just really hope on the 19th, we all just say "Good luck and we wish him the best" to not give any troll ammunition.... Let's just handle it in a classy way

So weird we are losing Malik, must have been a very special official visit he had there

Daylon and Kyler, I believe, have been the two factors that have changed his recruitment.... Take those two guys out of the equation and Sumlin, their defensive staff, their city or should I say little town, and everything else surrounding aggy doesn't have a leg to stand on... Being good friends with those two guys has made a huge difference IMO.. It's really clouded his judgement...BIG TIME!
quote:

News on Malik SUX. I hope after his visit to Texas he realizes whats best for his career. That aggie defense will never be good
quote:

Feel sorry for Malik, but then again not really. If you're too damn stupid to make a good college decision you deserve to have your growth as a player stunted
quote:

I've just gotten to the point I don't care. Sure I want Malik to be a horn but I'm not losing sleep over it. SOme of you guys will need to be put on suicide watch. I'll take a Charlie Strong defense without Malik, over a Kevin Sumlin defense with Malik.
quote:

Malik will follow his buddies to CS then in 3 years an NFL team will start teaching him how to play football simple as that.
quote:

The aggy crowing will be pretty unbearable, but that's what little brothers do. Malik is a smart kid, but a kid none the less. I'd want to go play football with all my friends too at that age. We will be fine and we sure as hell will make the playoff before they ever sniff one. So as a poster said up above, its important for us to continue to be a classy fan base.

I feel the same way. +1 for you.

Yup. For the life of me can't understand why you'd choose atm with the pick of the litter. It's an alright school but far from special and the football team/coaching is god awful considering the talent. I'm at UT because I wanted the best public education I could get in Texas and because it's a place of excellence. ATM is the new Texas State, they take so many and a damn gopher could be accepted there. Animal Husbandry? Sure, but anything else, including football, there are superior places. Wish I had the same opportunity as some of these kids
quote:

Sumlin really is the black Mack
quote:

If A&M lands Malik Jefferson I would just say that Kevin Sumlin is the greatest recruiter of all time...the reason I say this is because he has absolutely NOTHING to sell. No defense, no history of defense, no history of putting defensive players in the NFL, no history of winning in general, a program with no history of winning, and they would get the top DT, LB, and DB in the states if not the country. Mind blown when you think about it, very impressive

Is Von Miller the last defensive recruit that has been drafted from aggy?

He is the last player drafted out of aTm that has come onto a team and made an immediate impact. There is one other linebacker that has been drafted since Von, which was Sean Porter (Cincinnati Bengals). We all know that Von did not get to the league by the coaching in CS, the guy just has raw talent.

How are we losing something we've never had? It's not the end of the world, the kid is a special talent but we'll survive if we don't get him.

It will just "shape the recruiting landscape in the state for the next few cycles. (Howe)". Lol

Hmm I wouldn't follow my buddies unless it was to a powerhouse program not some middle of the way program thats never going to win anything. Be a leader not a follower if he goes to A&M he wouldn't be considered a leader he'd be considered a follower by listening to Mack and Murray but at the end of the day it is what it is

If you can't sell a superior defense to a kid, then your recruiting tactics are poor. It's as simple as that
It is never as simple as that. As Akers pointed out, everyone has an uncle.

I highly doubt that's the case. If Malik were to go to aggy, then he's nothing more than a follower. As good of a talent as he is, he'll be washing cars and asking if I want pickles on my burger by the time he leaves Jonestown. No amount of talent can fix their defense because no elite DC will go there.
quote:

quote:

Someone going to college isn't a stupid decision. I'm sure football isn't the only factor that Malik is weighing for his decision. Don't insult kids. That's just stupid
He's not a kid anymore, and it isn't just based on football. IF he chooses A&M when he has the pick of the litter the kid's an idiot, sorry.
quote:

quote:

Is he 18 yet? No? Then he's a kid. You've really shown your arse in this thread by needlessly and senselessly bashing a KID for no reason. You calling him an idiot is way, way, way out of line and completely unwarranted.
If he comes to UT, great. If he doesn't, I wish him the very best as he's handled the recruiting process the way it should be handled
Seriously? Let's be real here, I dont sugarcoat things. If he chooses aggy, it's a laughable failure on his/families part.

No history of defense whatsoever...NONE.

According to sips, the years 1984-2002 never existed.

So, basically only 2014 (2013 had DaMontre as well as Porter)? I don't really think a Texas fan should be talking shite about the 2014 draft. Like, at all.

Hey now, it's obvious that Texas' senior laden lineup is on the up and up compared to our fish laden lineup- spells definite future success for them.

Wow, so much gold in there. "Well obviously Von succeeded despite A&M" the twisted logic they have to go through

Didn't their lord and savior fat Ketch say that Von Miller might start by his senior year and was a 6th rounder at best?
