I'm not a VIP member on 24/7 but it's not exactly "classified" from the boards to learn that James Lockhart is butthurt that we didn't offer sooner.
If Sumlin hadn't slow played both Kris Boyd and Lockhart they would have committed after Junior Day. If we don't get them I put all the blame on Sumlin.

And what if we offered KB and he committed, then he turned out like Hoza and we lost out on another prospect because he was filling a spot that he shouldn't have been? It's a double edged sword.

anybody know what Daylon told Hamm about how a Kyler commit would effect him and other recruits?

“Having a 5-star offensive guy and a 5-star defensive guy, along with some other great , great players in this class, is what other recruits will love,” he said. “It definitely makes it easier for me (laughing). I think there are a lot of other recruits who feel like he will be choosing A&M tomorrow though. "

So turns out the Oregon mods just made up the story about Kyler reaching out to them. They simply never stopped recruiting him.
The entire premise of their optimism was false.

Have we found that elusive school with worse recruiting analysts than our own?!

The Oregon fans on 247 are pissed. Tarp basically call their shite and said there was nothing to the claim. Hamm backed him up but says the misleading info wasnt intentional, they were just wrong

Did Ketch and Burton not wrap that up previously?

I don't really count them as analysts or actual people

Ketch is a sentient program used to test the limits of human credulity on Orangebloods. The pictures posted of him over the years are actually of some poor guy in western Kansas who has no clue what the frick is going on.

That poor guy in western Kansas looks like a fricking douche in most of his pictures

He has a glandular problem that causes him to eat too fricking much all the time.

Shut the front door! Are you serious? Wow, if so. Great way to start my day.

Wouldn't that be worse for us though if they never stopped recruiting him?

The impetus for the rash of crystal balls to Oregon was the report that Kyler reached out to them of his own initiative. The common interpretation was this was a sign that he really was starting to have doubts about A&M. If, in fact, he never did contact Oregon as reported, then there was no reason to believe anything about his recruitment had changed, and he was still Aggie all the way.
FWIW, Hamm is vouching for the Oregon mods, saying the info wasn't fabricated. Says it came from the Duck side of things, and that Justin Hopkins (the duck mod in question) has good sources. Possible this was a bit of theater staged by Kyler to liven up his announcement. Or could just be a misunderstanding.

Or just the way recruiting is going
It's funny how like 7-8 years ago (aka when I was in college), recruiting wasn't even much of a thing. You had your websites but they mostly just announced commitments, you read about it and moved on. Now it's a spectacle.
You have kids "stating" their favorites in an article, only to change them on Twitter the next day
