Sure wish I didn't have to get up at 4. Stinks not being able to have a cold one while listening.

Biggest takeaway for me is Long's performance. Let's hope it's contagious. 7 complete innings, 2 hits, 3 walks, 0 runs. RC and I hate the 3 walks but he did a nice job working out of it.

Defense wasn't really tested other than Banks, but with his jet shoes he did his normal thing.

Long pitched a gem, an absolute gem. Vinson came in and shut the door for the 8th and 9th.

With 2 games to go.
1. LSU 19-8
2. Vandy 18-9 (up 1 late vs Bama) - 1/2 game back
3. Texas A&M 18-9 - 1 game back

RPI up to 5... LSU is 6th. It'll probably change before the end of the night.

Not a lot of help. FSU, UF, and LSU all lost the openers.

I'm confused. How is that not helpful? Or are you saying that their losses don't move them down much?

Personally I think our RPI is fine for getting a top 8. I'm much more interested in miraculously winning the SECW. Go Gamecocks!

I had 12 games listed. 3 of them feel out way. LSU already has a national seed locked up so really on 2 games feel out way.

Last night...
UL lost, but they're pretty much a lock too.
FSU lost, that very good news. They're right in the mix.
DBU lost, that #1 RPI is the biggest them keeping them even in the convo.

Updated RPI this morning.
1. DBU
2. Miami
3. UCLA
4. TCU
5. LSU
6. Texas A&M
7. Florida
8. Missouri St
9. Florida St
10. Vanderbilt

A few random thoughts.

I think it is safe to say the Big XII is a lock for only 2 teams. I think OU had a shot if they swept TCU this weekend, but they're down 0-2.

I also think its safe to say FSU isn't getting a national seed baring a huge turn around in the tournament. They've lost 4 in a row and are clearing behind UL and UM in the ACC standings.

Congrats to Illinois who now have the longest winning streak year @ 26. They passed up as we opened 24-0.

A&M is 12th in O runs per game and 20th in D runs per game. Not too shabby. For comparison, I believe, LSU is the only other team in the top 20 for both @15th/16th.
