Damn... we NEED Alaka and Parker, and this is the foundation of a championship. Every other position has depth besides those two at this point. Also, the 5* OT would be nice as well. All I want for Christmas at this point
Young, Alaka, Parker, and Smith would round out the most amazing haul in recruiting we've seen since I was in school

There are 107 prospects in the final ESPN 300 currently committed to SEC schools. Breaking it down further, the SEC West is responsible for 60 of those pledges, with the East having 47. Alabama leads with way with 17 ESPN 300 commitments, LSU has 14, Florida has 12, and Texas A&M and Tennessee each check in with 11.
There are also eight five-star prospects currently committed to SEC programs, out of 15 possible. Of the eight, seven are SEC West verbals with the Crimson Tide having four alone. There is the possibility that as many as 11 five-star recruits will sign with SEC programs, with No. 9 overall Adoree' Jackson (Gardena, Calif./Junipero Serra), No. 14 Carter and No. 15 Marlon Humphrey (Hoover, Ala./Hoover) still strongly considering SEC schools.

One A&M commit told me a couple of Longhorn recruiting services (numbers) have been persistently calling...#reportingorrecruiting?
This tweet has set off a bunch of people at 247 apparently. I'm not really sure why. It's pretty standard and you'd have to be pretty naive not to see it.
Recruiting sites are typically the most consistent negative recruiters. It's widespread tbh. Burton, Ketch, and others have a very long history of negatively recruiting A&M targets and commits. Schools also use them to get around dead/quiet periods. But people are fricking kidding themselves if they don't think the A&M sites do the same.
Some like David Sandhop are above it (which is why he takes offense) but I know for a fact that one of them was used as a go-between (with a prior staff) during a dead period with recruits. It's all part of the game and playing it is how these sites curry favor with the coaching staffs. Burton and his crew will call Harvey and Ledwick and Mack until they sign on the dotted line. That's not suddenly going to change because they are outed.

Edwin Freeman is going to Texas. Did he hold a A&M offer?
Posted on 1/16/14 at 3:35 pm to Captain Crown
Yeah, been expected for a while though.

It was expected. We are looking to pick up young and flip alaka

Kenny is going to be a fun finish to see where he ends up.

His tweet gives me a lot of hope. I was guessing that McGraw getting an offer helped a lot, but who knows. McGraw has been talking about LA a lot so maybe it doesn't.

The coaching community is such tight nit group that this is honestly pretty standard. But when you see what James Franklin or Charlie Strong are doing right now poaching from their former schools, stories like this remind you that for the most part, these guys don't eff each other or their former employers over.
quote:
"When I first heard that Coach Joseph was leaving, I honestly didn't really know what to think," Mosley told the recruiting site. "But a couple of days later, I spoke with him and he was telling me that Nebraska is the best fit for me. He didn't want me going anywhere else. The coaching staff loved me. "
"He didn't want to recruit me to Texas A&M because he had too much respect for Coach Pelini and the staff. I respect that. He said he had to do what he had to do for his family, and I understand that."
