this is something that has bothered me for a while. We don't have a true burner. Evans really isn't, he's just such a beast that with any sort of separation he wins.
I think Ja'Quay could be our burner but he needs to learn to run routes. When I watch him or Quiv I wonder if they are even trying to do so. Both played this year because they are freak athletes but damn they run shitty routes.

TJC coach is very pro Aggie for the record. Could become a good JUCO pipeline.

always good to have good relations with local schools. Both Fran and Sherman seemed to use Blinn a lot (Fran's son was coach for a while). Sherman also directed players to SHSU and our AD also put them on the schedule at that time. Seems like our current staff likes TJC as we are directing kids there and obviously recruiting there heavily.

espn update on Nacho
bold is probably just a freudian slip

Iheanacho’s home visits start with Arkansas, as running backs coach Joel Thomas is scheduled to meet with him on Tuesday. Iheanacho said LSU will bring head coach Les Miles and offensive coordinator Cam Cameron on Wednesday, and Texas A&M will bring head coach Kevin Sumlin and running backs coach Clarence McKinney on Thursday.
Additionally, Oregon was in town visiting Iheanacho on Monday. While the Ducks haven’t offered, Iheanacho said they are keeping a strong eye on him.

Does this mean Matt Davis is coming back if Joeckel and Johnny both leave?

Let me check on some things. I do know Kingsburry is coming to look at Reynolds this week.

some interesting A&M nuggets in this free Hog article
I didn't even know Arkansas was under consideration. Everything I've heard is LSU is our only real competition unless Oregon goes all in. Even then, I expect he'll be an Ag.
btw, someone bookmark it and ask me about Parker after he signs. I have a pretty funny story on him but I'm not posting til after signing day.
Prob should be in '15 thread but I'm too lazy. We've taken a step back on Warren because of the injury. We want to see him next summer after rehab before extending an offer but we like him as a LB, not RB
That's interesting

Receiver Frank Iheanacho, 6-7, 220 of Houston Westside said Arkansas' running backs coach Joel Thomas attended his basketball game on Tuesday night. He said the visit went well.
He announced his top schools in no particular order Oregon, Arkansas, LSU, Texas A&M, Ole MIss, Missouri, TCU and Florida State on Monday.

Steve Parker Sr., the father of highly recruited safety Steven Parker of Jenks, Oklahoma said his son is favoring Texas A&M at this point. Arkansas and Oklahoma are also in the mix. The elder Parker said he and his son will get more into recruiting after the state title game on Thursday.

Junior running back Chris Warren, 6-2, 227, 4.4 seconds in the 40 yard dash, of Rockwall, Texas said his ACL rehab is going well. He considered to be one of the top junior prospects in the nation after rushing 174 times for 1,059 yards and 13 touchdowns as a sophomore.

here's a high school highlight reel btw. It's worth watching just to get to the FG fake at 0:40
but it really shows his athleticism in a variety of ways and what a football player he is. No doubt he's a very physical player. Think he'll contribute in a lot of ways.

Everyone seems really high on him. Why is he only a 3 star?

Not really sure. When I first sent a note to Captain Crown about him he didn't even have a profile on any site yet. I think people didn't realize he was a qualifier this year. Also when looking at his JUCO tape he looks a lot more explosive than he did in HS. I think maybe he's just one of those late bloomers because he's also grown a few inches in the last year.
Matt Davis rooms with him and called our coaches on his behalf and his recruiting has kind of blown up since. He's been offered by TCU and Boise the last few days and Oregon was scheduled to come by today to meet with him.

interesting strategy here...we're bringing in 3 OLB targets this weekend on OVs
1) Edwin Freeman - Freeman has narrowed down to 2 and will take a visit to tu next weekend and should decide shortly thereafter
2) Jimmie Swain - Swain decommitted from TCU yesterday and most feel like he's headed to Oregon. He's from KS btw so no real advantage bc either way is a long haul
3) Ismael Murphy-Richardson - IMR is sort of under the radar but the coaches visited him during the bye week when they went to AZ. He's listed as a WDE but we are recruiting him as OLB
Probably Swain and IMR are both Sam prospects while Freeman is probably a Will. But having them all come in the same weekend is just weird to me. My guess is we're going to push hard for a commit from Swain and if he passes push IMR. Freeman has been incredibly patient and is likely going to be another week either way.

Freeman and young would be a good way to close out LBs

There are rumors out there that LB Otaro Alaka of Cypress Falls has de-committed from Texas. Alaka has denied those rumors and says he's committed as long as there isn't significant change which would cause him to look at his options. A&M would be the favorite to steal him.

Texas A&M has actually already came by. They were there late last week. As of right now, as long as Mack Brown is still the coach, Alaka will not be opening anything up. This could change we're told, if Brown is relieved of his duties and/or retires.
