In other news, it sounds like Jerrod Heard looks completely lost at QB for Texas so far.
If David Ash takes another hit to the head (aside from him likely becoming a vegetable) Texas will by abysmal offensively.

Also, Parker isn't on the two deep. He hasn't taken a single practice snap since the second day of practice after a serious viral infection. He probably wont even play in garbage time for a couple weeks. Besides, he's an outside receiver. Gonzalez is the backup slot.

Is Gramling really expected to start over Harrison? Harrison has started like 26 consecutive games
Posted on 8/19/14 at 10:50 am to ShaneTheLegLechler
I think so. It's possible he won't but I would think if this were predetermined that someone would have taken some RG snaps at some point. Cheek has essentially gotten a free pass at RG (though he's played really well).
BJ likes to say that penny/nickel thing. Well you can't know how guys will work together if you never practice it. We've yet to see a pairing of Ogbhuehi and Harrison. We've yet to see any pairing but Cheek and Ifedi. For a long time I thought this was just motivation. But at this point, I honestly think this is who they plan to roll with.
CGSC's 2deep is a mess otherwise though so I wouldn't put much stock in it. We'll get an official one tomorrow.

Is it because Harrison was hurt in the spring or something else? I thought he had been pretty solid the last two years at guard and had legit NFL possibilities

Jarvis has always had weight trouble. He slows our tempo and I know they've gotten on him about it in the past. Think he showed up to camp pretty heavy and Gramling has played pretty well. Combo of the two really.

It didn't help his cause that when he got hurt in the Duke game and Garrett came in that the offense didn't miss a beat.
I'd say that Gramling is the epitome of "sticking with the program"
Redshirted as a true freshman
Didn't play as a RS Freshman
Didn't play as a RS Sophomore
Played a few games and started 1 as a RS Junior
Starter as a RS Senior

oh I forgot to mention this one too. Baggs was being tried out at WLB yesterday and Burns at SS. I'm fairly certain they are just trying guys at spots to see how they do and know what the depth chart really is. There will be a public 2-deep and then there will be a real one.
For instance last year they continually listed Stuckey as backup at LT but he redshirted. When it came to it, they moved Harrison outside. My guess is they wanted to see Baggs at WLB to test it and in a pinch they would know if they could reshuffle LBs. Guys like Baggs and Bass are going to be our swing guys at LB and Burns at safety.
And maybe they also wanted to give Alaka more snaps at Jack (he was playing both 1st and 2nd team in the 11v11 yesterday)

If Julien isn't a coach in the future that's a shame. He's mastered coachspeak. Thought it was a good interview though and Toates is so much better than that guy last year

Julien has mastered speak period. He's a better orator than many of us are.
Like I said, he comes across as a nerd.

De'Vante Harris not on 2-deep for SC. Vic Davis is. Guess there is no suspension.

pardon my OCD rant
weird to me that both GBH and Texags have made the same error today in processing the WR depth chart. I assume both have been to practices.
The starters are:
Z - Reynolds
Y - Kennedy
H - RSJ
X - Noil
And that's the order from right to left from the QBs point of view (in a 2 x 2 set). The TA chart has them inverted. And it seems so odd because Noil has been on the left of every single picture and video since he arrived at A&M. And this fall, Reynolds has been on the right every single time. So how do you make that mistake?
I think I'm taking crazy pills but it probably just comes down to nomenclature and the fact that the Air Raid's is slightly different than other offenses
