I think its obvious MM is a lock to win the Heisman so I figured I would compare him to the bench mark of great college QBs, our own JFF.
JFF / MM
Pass Yards
3706 / 3783
Pass TDs
26 / 38
Comp%
68.0 / 68.3
INTs
9 / 2
Rush Yards
1410 / 669
Rush TDs
21 / 14
Total Yards (Pas, Rush, Rec)
5116 / 4452
Total TDs
47 / 52
As of now they've played the same number of games. MM will get at least one more. Overall the comp level i the SEC > Pac 12, but damn what a great freaking year for MM. He really filled up the stat sheet.

Meh. If 2012 JFF played Oregon's 2014 schedule he would have put up video game stats and won more than a heisman.

those are really impressive numbers and hard to argue with. I don't mind him getting the Heisman. I don't have a better candidate really.
But I have to be honest, as a college football fan, I'm pretty shocked that his numbers are that good. I only watched Oregon twice this year and both times he was pretty average (both AZ games). My impression of him is that he's bad under pressure and I don't feel he's the best collegiate player (by a long shot).

Yeah, I don't envision him to be a standout QB in the pro-ranks. Most of Oregon's offense is designed to where plays are run quickly both running and passing. Now granted, his stats are good and he's an athletic kid doing what he needs to do to win but dropping back and making read progressions isn't his strong suit. I wish they would give it to Gordon but it's probably going to be Mariotta.

Incredible year for MM. I don't begrudge him winning the Heisman (as I fully expect him to do).
JFF would have put up similar numbers facing Pac-12 competition, as well.
