He's 62 and would not have the built in recruiting advantages LSU has. It was also take a good 3-4 years at least to transition to his "offense"

Oh, I wasnt really naming guys I'd want, more just naming guys I think would get at least a passing glance in case of Sumlin getting fired just before or just after the bowl this year. Basically the point was to show there are no good options right now.

Next year would be totally different b/c odds are it would be obvious if Sumlin was done by the middle of October.

Narduzzi would be included on a search list after the regular season is over next year (same for Whittingham) but I do not think he would leap into what would be a hornets nest at this current point in time.

Whittingham would probably be a tough pull right now. I think Narduzzi would, JMO

fricking shite, I hate to hear that Tbird.

frick that made me more pissed than anything! I loved the podcast!

You and Oscar did great work. I hope you get another shot at doing that.

Thanks, cardboard and greenbastard. It was a ton of fun. Hopefully we'll get a chance to do it again soon, but schedules were an issue (Oscar had to kill himself to make it home in time to do the show most weeks), and it was cutting into the time I usually spent skyping Aggiebelle in the evenings we recorded. Throw in the fact that wifey and I will be moving in the spring and Oscar has a new baby on the way, and there's too much going on to commit to a company that wasn't being as forthcoming with us as we needed them to be.

Will definitely revisit doing another podcast before next season. And doing it on our own terms

I think Herman would give it serious consideration but I kind of agree with you on the second part

I may be the only guy who doesn't want Herman...but just for shits and giggles, I'll be on board just to frick with Kyle Allen as he seems to be narrowing down his search to Cougar High

Tom Herman- Don't know if he's holding out for UTx (and they him) as the rumor goes, but would we really balk at hiring a "Coog coach", just because that's where we got Sumlin? Maybe because he's only got one HC season under his belt, but not because it's at Houston.

Larry Fedora- I know he signed an extension, but the rumor is that he's got an out in his contract for the A&M job. Those rumors don't usually sound very plausible to me, but this one does.

Bret Bielema- Yes, he's a clown. But he's at least winning at Arkansas, and he can beat LSU.

Jeff Brohm- Darkhorse, but this Bobby Petrino disciple has Western Kentucky playing well.

Totally forgot about Fedora somehow. Would love him but might be a tough pull with how much of a shitshow we are now even though he's a native

Don't know much about Brohm except that WKU had a good year

The claim that Kyler is "entitled" is no less speculation.

Kyler was a nationally ranked HS baseball prospect. There's no question in my mind that Sumlin had to agree to let him play baseball in order to get him to College Station. The only question was whether Sumlin later went back on whatever assurances he gave. And if you buy the rumor that a couple of days ago Sumlin "conceded" the issue, then that means up until that time, it was contested. That Sumlin, to some degree, was trying to persuade or pressure Murray to give up the diamond.

The tweets from other players today are not speculation

It's also been reported that Kyler had the option to play baseball this season and still be the starter

They aren't proof, either. They are their opinions of Kyler. Neither you nor I have any direct knowledge of the situation. So we have to depend on reports from others. The rumors that Sumlin made promises he didn't keep aren't as directly sourced as the player tweets, but given everything else that has transpired, particularly the circumstances surrounding Kyle Allen's transfer, and what led up to it, I think the reports are credible.

Definitely not "pure fictional speculation".

Germain Ifedi basically called him entitled. I'll take his word over yours.

I'm not offering a word.

I have no problem believing Kyler is entitled.

Sarge is insisting that 100% of the blame goes to Kyler. But if he's dismissing all the evidence that Sumlin also screwed up, and is partially responsible, I'm pointing out that by the same standard, he can't trust a few tweets as definitive proof.

Honestly fine with losing kyler if he doesn't have the attitude to win, losing Kyle hurts a bit I think though. Who knows, maybe jake turns us around, I certainly hope so.

According to the NCAA, if he doesn't remain at A&M until the end of the spring semester, he forfeits a redshirt year. Anywhere he goes, he's only got 2 years of eligibility at most.
