think it's going to come down to our defense vs. your offense. This is probably the best/deepest defensive unit we've had since joining the conference, but they're not without flaws. If y'all find a way to neutralize our pass rush, that'll make things easier for you. Our guys tend to pin their ears back as the game goes on.

It will be interesting to see what happens. We've beaten a Florida team who is ranked #2 in the country in Total Defense and a Virginia Tech team who is ranked #9 in the country in total defense and hung 38+ on both (And obliterated what was a very good scoring defense in the process).

Obviously that doesn't mean anything regarding Saturday's game, but we have played some very good defenses up to this point. It should be a good one.

Our o-line has failed to neutralize much weaker pass rushing teams than A&M. Hoping Dobbs doesn't get his clock cleaned too often.

I agree. That's why our pass rush had better be up to par. That's our strength. We flow to the ball well, but if we're guessing too much, Dobbs is too good--he'll pick us apart.

If he's half as tough as Austin Allen, he'll be aight. That boy took a lickin' and kept on tickin' even after the game was in hand for us.

How does the A&M secondary look? The pass rush scares me, but I've noticed the Aggies giving up quite a few yards through the air.

Secondary is iffy. Our CB's have been hit/miss. Safeties are scary good. LB's kind of in the middle of those two.

Donovan Wilson (#6) plays a lot of nickel and Justin Evans/Armani Watts (safeties, #14/#23) are the biggest playmakers on the back end. Dudes freaking LOVE to hit, but they can get a tad over aggressive of they're not careful. If the pass rush isn't there, they're susceptible to double moves and such.

From what I've seen from A&M, they have a great DL and a very, very aggressive Chavis defense. Looks familiar

I feel like VOLS should try to run Dobbs more with the read option against them than we did against UGA. Their aggressiveness could come back to bite them on some Dobbs counter runs and really get them on their heels. Make them respect Dobbs' legs and that could neutralize their pass rush somewhat imo

That'd be how I'd play it at first. Gotta be careful running Dobbs, though. Like I said, there are some headhunters in the secondary.

I love the aggressiveness of our defense. I prefer a scary defense over a scary offense (my all-time favorite TAMU games I attended was a 9-6 win ). Something we haven't had in awhile.

Going to be interesting to see how Butch tries to use our aggressiveness against us (and how Chavis will counter).

Man I can't wait for this game

Dobbs is tough as nails but that doesn't mean he can't get hurt. We need him 100% for Bama.

I get what you're saying about Dobbs but he is much bigger than you might think at first glance and he is tough as shite. I'm not saying he's as good, but he is from the same mold as a Cam Newton or a Dak Prescott with his running ability. He also has great balance and you rarely ever see anyone really tee him up and get a clean shot in.

Trying to tackle Dobbs high is usually a mistake and he can turn a 5 yard gain into 20+ very quickly.

We're doing a variation of this with TK. I honestly think he and Dobbs are the same person. They both have deceptive, slightly above average speed, good elusiveness in the open field, difficult to get a good square hit on, big arms with disappointing accuracy and completion percentages.
