From another board

quote:

I have one source.... he played for Bill Battle and was not a well known player.... he has made a lot of money and is a substantial donor ..... not near the Thornton level or anything like that but substantial.... he told me in search before last that we would hire Kiffin long before his name ever came up, he said Charlie Strong would be offered the job while I was still screaming Gruden..... here is what he told me this time

1. Butch is done, just a matter of timing
2. Money and other obstacles have been removed and they are going after a name coach
3. I will be happy with the hire

Refused to give me a name or any hint and I have asked several times

This sounded like Charlie Anderson and I was about to get REAL EXCITED.

Then you got to this part.

quote:

not near the Thornton level or anything like that but substantial

Anderson donates above the Thornton level...way above. Hence the Anderson Training Center.

Let's hope coastypop is legit.

No idea who coastypop is. I believe two more losses will do the trick.

I do believe everybody is on the same page when you talk about money people.

I have not really heard much about individual names and have no idea where they are with that. There are at least a couple very influential people who are very infatuated with Gruden. But we all know in reality there is one family who will basically decide what happens and I haven't heard who their guy is. I do believe Currie may be more assertive than previous ADs have been in dealing with them and inserting his own ideas in to the search.

Bama and either SC or LSU

Why wait. If we have our man and it is Stoops, pull the trigger.

He can start tomorrow.

Right now, we're just meeting with him, secretly.

There was a rumor on some Oklahoma board that Stoops was meeting with either VOLS or A&M last weekend in Ohio after his son's college visit.

Then some plane trackers noticed a UT plane went to Cincinnati Saturday morning.

Hmmm

By this, do you mean they are in agreement to do what it takes to make a home run hire?

Is PFM one of those very influential people iyo?

And do you think Currie will target Gruden? I understand if you can't answer that. We appreciate the nugs

No

Closest one is 92.3 miles away in Louisville.

No chance, Sumlin saved his job last Saturday. He'll beat Florida.
