If Dormady and the oline get their shite together we have more receivers that can show out.

I cussed them most of the game but they finally started playing better. When the blocking improved so did the passing game. Dormady cleaned up his decision making (wtf was that one pass into quadruple coverage??) and settled in. That said, even with poor blocking early on the WRs/TEs had 6 drops that were completely on them. Given how little we possessed the ball I'm hoping that was a sync/jitters issue.

Why TF is Byrd at Wr and not CB??? Someone please explain this to me, because I'm at a complete loss as to the logic of it. Especially since we have 2 other capable options at the slot in Williams and Smith.

Who the hell knows, man. He hasn't looked good at all to me at receiver and we are playing Martin and Moseley at corner.

Even if the light turns on for him on offense we have a desperate need for him on defense. It feels like an unnecessary waste. Everyone wanted him on defense, he wants to be on defense, and looked like a five star in the All American game at corner.

I'm worried that he might be a practice time hero, but to be fair he basically had no game experience. The game was just too fast for him starting out. Like you said the pass catchers and oline made it a lot worse.

I think he can still turn into what we all hoped for, but I have a hard time seeing him get up to speed in time for Florida. He had some bad footwork and was basically nervously slinging it pressing too hard to make a play in the first half. Second half looked much better.

Also, he looked a lot more athletic than I remember. Only two carries I know, but the zone read might not be completely dead with him like I thought.

I called him that in the game thread but I think he did more than enough to prove me wrong. At the very least, anyone who can manage a comeback like that in their first start with no experience other than an incredibly small amount PT in trash time deserves some patience. His confidence and the team's confidence in him should grow with this game.

Ditto, he'll shrug off the first game jitters and we'll be rolling by the time we hit up Florida.
