How embarrassing does it have to get before anything actually happens?
I can almost see how this plays out: Tennessee lets Butch keep coaching because some people believe it gives us the best chance to get to a bowl game. Then, when we lose our seventh game, the same people will likely advocate keeping him since it gives us the best chance to avoid eight losses. Then, we lose our eight game and the season finally ends. We fire Butch, sending the clear message that if you field our worst team ever, you may eventually be on the hot seat. Finally, we offer Gruden, and he turns us down. Then, we are left with no recruiting class and we have already missed on the top coaching candidates with no backup plan. We end up hiring some guy whose name I can't type because I haven't heard of him yet.
Someone please convince me it's not going to play out like this.

I wish I could argue with you but I can't
Either our admins/ppl of influence somehow all get forced out soon or Tennessee football is doomed for a generation until they've all died out

Some media tweeted out that during the Drae Bowles saga, we dressed up a dude in his jersey to pass him off as being at practice.

Dammit... Sad Vol fans are the worst Vol Fans... Your AD needs to pull his head out of his arse and put Butch and the fanbase out of their misery. 
Any news on that front at all? Has anyone determined if there is some kind of financial advantage to not officially firing him until a certain point? I can see no other reason to continue the charade of keeping him on otherwise...

Smith Robertson Thomas Johnson Brooks
Brooks hasnt played a game since his high school sophomore year where he was a TE.
Johnson has never started and was probably 5th in the guard rotation to start the year.
We are probably going to lose to Southern Mississippi. Butch doesn’t get fired.

One would think but at this point I feel like they have chosen their hill to die on for whatever reason and willl keep him til at least that 7th loss, maybe the end of the season
