Why do Ole Miss fans hate Lane Kiffin so much? You knew who you were dating.

Controversy follows him out the door at nearly every stop, so why did you think Ole Miss would be the one to change him? Be thankful for what he built, show him some respect tonight, and move on. Lane has never been the settling-down type when better options keep calling. Deep down, LSU fans know he’ll eventually break their hearts too. They’re still in the honeymoon stage, but we know those feelings don't last forever.

The exact reason that lsu fans love him so much. Cult of personality. Same reason lsu fans will hate him when he inevitably leaves there.

I think the difference is we know who lane is and we aren’t asking him to change. Kiffin fits in pretty well with the culture down here. It’s fast, loud, brash, and can go off the rails at any point in time.
Ole Miss fans are up the narrative of a changed man, loved Oxford, he was at home, etc etc.

He will move on at some point. I resigned myself to that as soon as he was hired. All you can do is enjoy it while it lasts. The problem Ole Miss fans have is that they are not used to the same level of success as LSU. Lane is the best or second best coach they've ever had, so they've had a lot of difficulty getting over it. At LSU, you just hire the next big name and move on.
