ECU has a nice little base. Their stadium is up there for such a small school.

Harrell has won 73% of his games as a head coach. The answer to the question is obvious. He wins games so their fans follow the team. That's always the answer to this question.

Dowdy Ficklen seats 50k. They are a football and baseball school unlike their fellow NC brethren. That fanbase isn't much different than an SEC fanbase. Greenville, NC is a cool road trip to take. Do a day in New Bern as well.

I’m longtime friends with some ECU alumni. Use to go up there in the 90s to attend usually one game a year. For a smaller school, they’ve got a very dedicated fan base and they travel well.
