You’re right. A forward moving arm releasing a forward moving ball by the qb behind the line of scrimmage shouldn’t be reviewed for a fumble.

If refs can determine intent now, we’re all fricked.

I thought the rule was arm moving forward but they seem to make up calls on the fly.

Thank you. There’s an objective rule for arm mechanics and the physics of the ball. Not one for claiming the intent of the player (which was Matt Austin’s opinion). That’s wild.
